I had breast explant 6 weeks ago and my right breast is dented and hard. The surgeon who performed the explant said I need a new implant but I'm adamantly about not getting any more implants. Will getting fat transfer help fill it out instead?
Answer: My right breast is dented and hard after explant. Will fat transfer help with this? Hello @thediva76, thank you for your question. Healing is an important process and it's recommended that you take the necessary time to let the tissue heal before considering any other options. A breast fat transfer can help however I believe there are other options you can consider. You could benefit from aesthetic reconstruction with BRALAN technique (Breast Reconstruction Anatomical Lift Augmentation) and breast lift. It is possible to create good breast shape and upper pole fullness with your own tissue 11 months from now. For breast fat transfer the waiting period is shorter, but the results are sutil. Answer: Hard and dented right breast Thank you for your question regarding a postop concern and for including photos. They are extremely helpful! Since your surgery was only six weeks ago, you are still pretty fresh post operative. In my practice, I encourage my patients to continue to give this time to heal. I would recommend that you talk with your surgeon about healing expectations and timeline. If you feel like your concerns are not being heard, it is well within your rights to seek a second opinion.

Answer: Fat Yes, once the swelling has subsided and the tissues have settled, you can have fat added to give more volume and help pull out the skin. You may need more than one grafting session.

Answer: Deformity after removal of breast implant It appears that best way to correct current deformity would be breast lift. When that is done and shape correction is achieved, addition of fat grafts can be considered to further refine result and increase volume, if needed. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon, familiar with these techniques, is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Bellesoma Method Fat transfer will not help with this situation. You will need a breast lift and I recommend The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
