I'm a woman who is 57 and healthy, i have always had one breast bigger than the other, it makes me self conscious, Can you take fat from my hips and upper thigh and transfer to my breasts to help them look fuller and even? I really don't want implants at my age.

Hello @kjordan48, thank you for your question. Yes, it is possible to transfer fat from your hips and upper thigh to your breasts to help them look fuller. However, I consider that liposculture is a better option because this procedure eliminate fat deposits in different body parts: hips, thighs, arms, back, stomach etc. Practically shaping the body. This will give you the best results long term. After a process, the fat taken from your body will be injected into your breasts to improve their shape and asymmetries. I would encourage you to schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Breast fat transfer is a great procedure to add a little bit of volume to improve symmetry. The fat can also be used for a breast augmentation if the goal is to be a little bit bigger but not excessively so. For someone wanting to be considerably larger either multiple procedures of breast fat transfer may be done or an implant used. Fat can be taken from anywhere that there is excess, including; the lateral thighs, medial thighs, buttocks, flanks, and abdomen as the most common choices. Fat transfer is an excellent procedure for a person who understands it's limitations, has a realistic outcome goal that is natural and wants to avoid an implant.

Very likely that you would be a candidate for fat grafting of breasts; augmentation with implants would be much better and more predictable solution. You should discuss your options in person with a board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience in fat grafting, in particular breasts. Good luck.

In general, the abdomen and thighs are preferred donor sites but other areas can be used as well. Some of the retention rate will depend upon the amount of fat transferred, as smaller volumes will likely have a higher survival.

Your breasts are asymmetrical in volume, shape and position. One breast is remarkably larger than the other. I recommend a lift using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.
