I'm 56, 5'3", 150 lbs, mom of 2. I gained 15 lbs due to menopause. I eat sensibly and exercise regularly, but it's extremely difficult to lose the extra weight. I would like to get coolsculpting for my belly fat and a bit of back fat that has developed. I'd sure like to be able to fit into some of my old pants again! I plan to get consultations with a few local doctors/plastic surgeons. Would coolsculpting help despite being a bit overweight? I now wear size 12 but used to be size 8 /10!
Answer: CoolSculpting Hello, based on your photos it is difficult to tell for sure if you would make an ideal CoolSculpting candidate. It is recommended to be at or very close to your ideal end weight with a few "pockets" of fat that are difficult to get rid of on your own. You may be able to achieve your desired results after several CoolSculpting treatments, or you may be a better candidate for liposuction/ Tummy Tuck. I recommend planning a consultation in person with a board certified plastic surgeon for more accurate feedback.

Answer: Coolsculpting for slightly overweight It is always nice to be your ideal weight but menopause can wreak havoc with weight gain around the middle. It is important to start moving more and watching what you are eating. In the meantime, find a practice that has lots of experience with coolsculpting. We are doing Fire and Ice. The fire is Thermismooth to get some slimming and skin improvement using radiofrequency. Then the ice with coolsculpting to reduce the fat. Layering these techniques can lead to some really nice results in the right hands. These techniques will not fix underlying rectus muscles, if they are stretched out, nor does it remove poor quality skin. If these are the main issues then a tummy tuck would be better. Make sure to do your part with a healthy lifestyle for longterm improvement and maintenance.

Answer: Coolsculpting Thank you for your question. Coolsculpting is best suited for individuals who are at their ideal weight with small pockets of pinchable fat. It is a bit difficult to determine based on photos only whether or not coolsculpting is the best treatment for you. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon. Regards,

Answer: Coolsculpting for Slightly Overweight CoolSculpting is a great, FDA-approved treatment for fat reduction of the abdomen. Patients in our office have seen an average fat reduction of 20-25% with each treatment. Depending on the patient's body composition and outcome goals, it may take more than one treatment to achieve optimal results. It takes about 2-3 months to get a general idea of the final results. The results are long-lasting as long as you maintain a stable healthy lifestyle.
