This is not at all effective and is unsafe. Coolsculpting uses a controlled freezing technology which kills fat and also protects your skin. By using ice packs you are exposing yourself to uncontrolled temperatures and to the possibility of frost bite. This will not give you any results and should not be tried.Regards,
This is not possible to do at home as you cannot get to the low temperatures required. Don't waste your time trying. Regards, Dr Steve Merten, Sydney
I understand there is a lot of information on the internet and please know this is a really unsafe idea. You can not control the temperature with any non medical device and it won't work. It can actually damage your skin and surrounding tissue. Cool Sculpting has FDA clearance on the temperature and time for treatments. Anything different is not worth doing. Best of Luck.
You should not perform fat freezing at home. First of all, it is possible that you could cause damage if the freezing is done too cold. When CoolSculpting is done, it goes to a particular temperature to prevent damage to the skin while still causing fat cell destruction. Second, it is unlikely that freezing fat at home with ice pads would even work. You should have the treatment performed by a physician.
Please do not try fat-freezing treatments at home, because they can have some really damaging effects to your skin. The reason why CoolSculpting® is safe and effective is that it is able to target only the unwanted fat cells that you want to remove without harming the surface of your skin or the surrounding cells. When you simply apply ice to an area of your body, you are unable to control which cells you are harming and which you are not. Because of this, you could end up with painful frostbite or other unwanted side effects. Moreover, there is no evidence to show that at-home treatments like this will have any effect whatsoever on losing fat, so it’s just not worth putting yourself at risk. CoolSculpting® really is a much more effective and safer option.
Prreeti, This is a really bad idea. You cannot control the temperature accurately at home. You also may cause frostbite to an area you treat. CoolSculpting has extensive patient experience and the protocols have been revised many times to ensure optimal results. It has been cleared by the FDA and the offices offering the treatment have undergone training to use the technology. It just isn't that simple.
Thank you for your question. Please do not attempt to freeze away your fat at home with ice packs. First of all, you will not get any results. You may also cause damage to the tissue you are attempting to freeze. CoolSculpting is FDA cleared for a reason. CoolSculpting has been scientifically tested for safety and effectiveness. The temperature setting are precise and intended to only freeze fat while causing no harm to skin or muscle. In addition, CoolSculpting uses specially designed pplicators that will artistically sculpt the body for a smooth and natural result. Trust me, if you have even one area treated with CoolSculpting, you will immediately see how absurd the idea of using ice packs really is. There is absolutely no comparison.
Hello prreeti,This question has appeared to us at real self in the past and universally the answer to attempting this by whatever means is DO NOT ATTEMPT. I am sure you will receive the same response as previous inquiries. It is not safe, can only potentially cause serious harm and not at all likely to have any benefit.
Unfortunately, you cannot get an effective treatment with ice bags at home. You will burn your skin and it will not work. Zeltiq has specialized sensors that get your fat cells to less than -10 degrees Celsius (which is the temperature at which fat cells will start to die) without causing damage to the surface skin. I would recommend doing the actual procedure in a CoolSculpting Certified Practice if you want real results.
You should not try to attempt this at home. CoolSculpting uses a controlled cooling to kill the fat cells, while preventing any damage to the skin or surrounding tissue. Using ice packs can cause permanent damage to skin cells and could be very dangerous to your body. Also, you most likely will not get any results from using ice packs because you cannot control the temperature. This is a medical procedure and needs to be done by a certified CoolSculpting specialist.
