Yesterday I went in for my first treatment. The doctor recommended three treatments, with two months between each, so that's the package I purchased. It will take half a year to a year to really see a difference so this review is mostly for the day-of.
The procedure itself was somewhat painful, but there was an assistant cooling my scalp the whole time and I had ProNox, which made the whole thing feel like it took about two minutes. I highly recommend using ProNox if your doctor offers it, because I think the 10-15 minutes it actually took would have passed a lot more slowly and painfully without it. The doctor told me I was tough during the procedure but I bet she says that to all the girls :) After the injections, she microneedled the remaining plasma into my scalp.
When I left the office, my hair was a half wet half crusty mess and there were a few small spots of blood from the needle around my hairline. Plan to go home for the night and not out into public. My scalp actively ached for only 1-2 hours after the procedure, and then it was only tender when touched. If you have to go into work the next day, you could, but don't plan to do anything too fancy to your hair because it is still tender the next day. I work at home and could have done this on a weekday and been back online the next day for video calls even wearing a headset. I imagine I will still be tender tomorrow and maybe the next day, but it's totally manageable.
This was my first time working with Dr. Tsitsis and she had a fun bedside manner. She was reassuring the whole time and also satisfied my curiosity by talking through and showing me every step of the process. I also have to say, when I did the consult ahead of time I worked with Rebecca and she was incredible too. I've never before done sort of treatment like this, and she was patient in talking me through the best options for my skin and my concerns. I have several more procedures booked with Rejuvenation MD and I'm positive the rest of the women who work there will be just as great.
