I got a nose job exactly four weeks ago, today I was cleaning my nose and when I got to the inside of the tip I thought I had a booger but it was really like a little skin tag. I kept pulling on it trying to get it out, until I started bleeding. That's when I realized it wasn't a booger. Maybe I'm paranoid, but will it ruin my results? Is it normal to have a tiny piece of skin sticking out?
Answer: Skin Tags Inside Nose After A Rhinoplasty - What Are They? There are several possible explanations as to what you are referring to as a skin tag inside the tip of your nose.It could be a suture, usually beige in color, that will dissolve and fall out over the next month. It could be uneven mucosal repair inside of your nose which will remodel over the next few months without you doing anything. It could be a bit of cartilage sticking out that was used to do a tip graft or nasal tip expansion, etc. etc.Obviously, the best person to answer your question is your personal plastic surgeon. He or she knows exactly what was done inside your nose and can better answer the question as to whether you have caused any internal damage.Without an in person exam and reading the op report, it would be difficult for any RealSelf plastic surgery expert to definitively answer your question. However, in general, pulling on tissue or sutures inside the nose early post operatively rarely causes any permanent damage even if bleeding occurs.

Answer: Skin inside the nose after rhinoplasty Hi and thanks for the question. During a rhinoplasty, the surgeon often makes small incisions along the insides of the nostrils and columella. In the first few weeks, it's possible that the skin may be raised along these incisions making it look like a skin tag. The other possibility is that you accidentally grabbed a dissolvable stitch in or under the skin which hasn't yet dissolved. In either case, it's doubtful that you caused permanent damage to your nose, though it would be a good idea to contact your surgeon and have him or her take a quick look. Best regards,Dr. Mehta

Answer: Skin tag inside the nose Hi, it might be normal along the wound. I wouldn't be too worried until you see your surgeon for your post op review. Keep it clean and phone your nurse/surgeon if you experience pain, temperature or your nose smells bad. Good luck

Answer: Tag after rhinoplasty Yes this is san occasional occurrence because the thicker tissues are swollen next to the thinner skin of the nostril rim. This usually resolves with resolution of the swelling. Don't pick--keep moist with Polysporin. Show your surgeon for further advice.

Answer: SKIN TAG IN NOSE Dear _mar, See your surgeon for a follow up appointment and keep the cleaning of your nose to your surgeon or a nurse. Your results should remain the same but better for your peace of mind to have an intra-nasal examination. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
