Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon because you are healing, however, if you are concerned, do not hesitate to contact your board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,
Please call your surgeon's office and discuss with your surgeon. They can evaluate you in person if needed. Best.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Thanks for the question. Generally, patients start to feel much better around the 4th day after rhinoplasty. Thats when the swelling starts to diminish and the pain reduces as well. Many patients have switched to plain Tylenol by day 4. A low grade fever may not be concerning if you don't have other symptoms, and can be related to reduced activity after surgery. However, you should definitely check in with your surgeon. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!Dr. Mehta
A low grade fever after surgery is often due to your lungs not being expanded completely - atelectasis. This is a result of being under general anesthesia. I would recommend that you start with 10 deep breaths every 10 minutes for 2-3 hours. If your fever persists or if you have any redness, pain, drainage - I would recommend you contact your plastic surgeon. Good luck!
After surgery, your body needs to heal. And yes, it does takes a lot of energy to heal. However, one of the misconceptions after surgery is that you need to keep still and rest all day. It's quite the opposite. Napping in bed, being sedentary all day, and taking shallow breaths retain excess heat (low grade fever) and doesn't allow your body to clear out the anesthesia drugs and other toxins building up in your body.I recommend my patients try to stay maintain normal waking hours, drink plenty of water, do deep breathing exercises, and walk. Many are out and about in a few days. It's important to push yourself bit by bit. Everyone has their own limits, so it's important to have some help around for the first two days. Fever early in the recovery is rarely indicative of infection. Any concerns should be evaluated by your surgeon just to be on the safe side.
Low fever is not uncommon after a surgery, nonetheless, the swelling, bruising, and pain must be improving as you move forward to your recovery. Immediately inform your PS if you notice symptoms that you are not expecting. I hope that helps and good luck.
Thank you for your question. I suggest that you consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine the cause of your flat bridge. You may be a candidate for Rhinoplasty, although, I have not seen a picture of your nose. Best wishes,
This sounds more like a marketing maneuver than an actual procedure. Rhinoplasty requires the reshaping of skin/bone/cartilage. Most patients need at least one week recovery time, hard to short-change that and I wouldn't advise it. If you are going to go through with a procedure, it would be...
Great question. A nose doesn't really get bigger as one ages. Like everything else in the body as we age, the nose can hang and droop (especially if there is weak cartilage/lack of tip support to begin with) which can make it appear larger. If a rhinoplasty is performed well and struc...
