I would like to get rhinoplasty done as soon as possible but I just finished accutane. What is the soonest I can get rhinoplasty done after accutane and can you get rhinoplasty done sooner if it is closed rhinoplasty? I ask this bc I have heard the reason for waiting is due to scarring and from my understanding you do not scar as often with closed rhinoplasty.

Answer: Rhinoplasty after Accutane A closed rhinoplasty approach does not make an external incision, so it is probably acceptable to undergo the surgery 3 months after stopping the Accutane treatments. It's also best to check with your dermatologist and your prospective rhinoplasty surgeon

Answer: Accutane and rhinoplasty It's recommended to stop Accutane at least 6 months before considering surgery. If the skin is not ready, I may ask a patient to wait for 1 year.Accutane or isotretinoin is a form of vitamin A used to treat acne. It reduces the amount of oil released by sebaceous glands in your skin. It can also dramatically affect the healing process.I recommend informing your surgeon about any medications, creams, sprays, or supplements. A fully informed surgeon can plan out the safest treatment plan for you. And waiting a few months is well worth avoiding an complication. Safety comes first.
