Rhinoplasty - why is the swelling on the tip worse now than it was day of surgery?

Yes , it is perfectly normal for the tip to look more swollen than the day of surgery. Swelling reaches a peak at 48 hours after surgery. Unfortunately swelling goes away much slower. Generally 80% of swelling disappears by the end of the second week. Another 10% disappears over two months and the last bit of swelling in the tip generally takes a year(sometimes 18 months). Watch your salt, consider lymphatic drainage, and discuss your concerns with your doctor.

Thank you for your question. You are going to experience swelling up to 1 month after your surgery, and potentially longer as each patient responds to surgery/procedures differently. You will not be able to evaluate your results until you are done healing, which is 12 months post-op. Please consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.

that is very normal.  You were probably told before surgery that the swelling on the nose goes up and down as time goes by until it eventually is all gone which may take about one year.  So hang in there and don't look at you nose too much for at least another three months.

Swelling is often quite significant after surgery and will persist for many months after surgery. Best of luck.
