I was unsure of having any cosmetic surgery. I always thought it was best to leave it to mother nature. However, the hoods on my eyes were drooping into my eyesight/view and also drawing my facial expression down. I went to see Dr Buonassisi and he explained the procedure to me and showed me what he would be doing and then was so reassuring that it was up to me as to whether I should do it and that it is a personal decision. I felt no pressure at all. I think that is what gave me the nerve to have the procedure. I went to his office and he froze my eyelids and within half an hour the procedure was complete. I was fully awake the whole time and there was no pain. I was amazed at the recovery time. Within 2 weeks you could not tell I had had surgery. I still have a slight scar but it is in the crease of my eyelid so it is not noticeable and is healing and fading with each passing week. I would highly recommend Dr. Buonassisi and the procedure. I can honestly say it made my whole face look a little brighter and no one would be able to know I have had surgey.

I've seen Dr. Buonassisi for both rhinoplasty and upper blepharoplasty. From the moment you walk into his office, you know you are in extremely capable hands. He is very professional, kind and knowledgeable (A+ bedside manner). He gives you a thorough consult, and makes sure your expectations align with the outcome he can give you. It is apparent how much he cares about creating the best outcome, and ensuring you leave happy with your results. If you are looking to have an amazing experience from start to finish, and phenomenal results, this is the right surgeon for you.

A friend referred me to Dr. Buonassisi. I had been wanting rhinoplasty for years and years and finally pulled the trigger after seeing her results from him. His before and afters on the website showed very natural results and that was what I wanted. I did not want an aggressive approach and I am so happy with my results. My new nose matches what I pictured myself as, not what the mirror had been reflecting back. I am 3 months post op, so there is still some mild swelling that will take up to a year to go away but I am loving my results. The things that made me self conscious about it are now gone. It suits my face so well, that most people can't even tell I've had surgery. It's not until I show them the before and after that they realize how much has changed. That type of artistry is exactly what you want for facial surgery. It's not a generic button nose, and has retained some of its unique features, which is why it looks so so natural. I love it.
My experience with the clinic staff from the moment I reached out has been amazing. Every question and concern was met promptly and professionally (And there were a LOT of questions I had the first couple weeks after surgery)
I had a zoom consult as I was from out of town, and as soon as he explained what he would do, I couldn't wait. There were a couple areas I wanted changed and without me even elaborating, he explained what he would do for a cohesive, aesthetically pleasing look. His recommendations were exactly what I had been hoping for.
My surgery was an open rhinoplasty and I did the conscious sedation which was great. I hardly remember any of it and the whole surgical suite staff were very professional and attentive. I flew home 48hrs later (with a quick visit to the office before my flight because I panicked a bit- again- amazing customer service). I was able to do a zoom call a week later to take off the cast, and had a follow up in person 9 weeks post op. Everything looks great and now I just wait for the last phase of healing.

I had a deep plane neck lift with Dr. Buonassisi on June 5th 2024 and the experience was excellent.

Consultation: I really appreciated that he took the time to answer all my questions in a way that felt like he was genuinely happy to answer them. I’ve had consults with other doctors that seem annoyed to answer the same questions they’ve been asked a million times, but he was the opposite. He said no to an additional procedure I inquired about but gave me very good reasons why. I appreciated the honesty and that he didn’t just say yes to take more money. The office staff was great at communication both before and after the procedure.

Procedure: It was done under twilight anesthesia and I was conscious the whole time. I know some people go to sleep, but I didn’t. But I kind of loved it. I was able to hear how professional the whole team was during the surgery. I felt very well taken care of by him and the team at the False Creek Surgery Centre. The team at 8 West checked in on me after as well to make sure I was doing well after going home.

Recovery: The twilight anesthesia felt much gentler to recover from which I appreciated. I had two drains for the first two days. They came out when the superficial stitches were removed. I was stiff and a bit sore but honestly it was a very easy recovery. The first week is the worst of it but I found it very tolerable. Dr. Buonassisi’s stitches and incisions are incredible. You already can’t see the scar in front of my ear and it’s only been a few months.

Overall it was an amazing experience. I’ve already recommended him to friends and random strangers that have asked. I would go back to him for any future facial work.

Dr. Buonassisi was absolutely fantastic, i would give 10 stars if i could! Starting with my consultation, it went really smooth and he walked me through the process of the procedure, what to expect, as well as what kind of results could be achieved. The day of my procedure was seamless, it was scheduled for the morning and i was done by noon. Both the staff at 8 west clinic and the surgical centre were more than amazing, they're all so kind as well as knowledgable and they made me feel comfortable with each step of the way. The recovery itself was really comfortable and i had little to no pain and very minimal bruising (which was surprising because quite a lot of work was done). The result turned out to be everything i wanted and more, huge thank you to Dr. B for working his magic!

My experience with Dr. Buonassisi was perfect from A-Z. During the initial consult he was clear, transparent and set realistic expectations - which he later over-delivered on by far! His work is outstanding. I felt safe throughout the entire procedure which was quick and smooth sailing. I say he has magic in his fingertips because the results are even greater than I had hoped for when I initially began dreaming of this upgrade to my eyes, which are now very happily rejuvenated. I cannot recommend Dr. B enough!

I went to Dr. Buonassisi for facial feminization surgery, which ended up being a brow lift followed two months later by rhinoplasty and upper blepharoplasty. From the initial consultation (conveniently over Zoom) to the surgeries to follow-up appointments, I felt well cared for and listened to in terms of my hopes and concerns — but I also appreciated expert advice and reasoning for recommending certain things to do or not. Dr. Buonassisi’s manner, along with the staff at 8West, was great at putting me at ease. The operations themselves went so smoothly, healing was uncomplicated and rapid following the instructions I was given, and the results are fantastic! Everything looks perfectly natural and subtle (and the incisions have faded away to be virtually invisible in a very short time) but the difference it has made to how I see myself is enormous;.

I'm now 3 months post op and I am BEYOND happy with the results of my rhinoplasty, it is exactly what I was looking for and expecting. I recommend Dr. Buonassisi and his team to all my family and friends.

My nose has been something that I have always been self-conscious of. I hated the appearance of it. It was the first thing I would look at in pictures and my number one insecurity. I used to fantasize what a different nose would look like but I never truly embraced a journey into rhinoplasty.

However, I came across Dr. Buonassisi's YouTube channel and I got very curious about rhinoplasty for the first time in my life. I probably watched every single video on his channel and I told to myself: I like this doctor's conservative approach in regards to rhinoplasty. Dr. Buonassisi's videos were very informative and fun to watch. I liked that he was helping different ethnicities with somewhat different, but also similar, concerns I was having about my nose. Dr. Buonassisi's videos allowed me to see how skilled he was as a surgeon.

I've never had plastic surgery before nor is it common amongst my family or friends; so for me having an ethical & skilled surgeon were my two top priorities. Based on the online reviews I read, I felt he was going to make me less nervous about the experience. All I cared about was looking natural and still looking like myself. I wanted to look like a better version of myself, not someone different.

I figured it was worth a shot to go in for a consultation with him and trust my gut. I booked my consultation and the girls in his clinic were amazing. The 8 West Clinic has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Before meeting with Dr. Buonassisi, his assistant emailed me a Rhinoplasty Guide pdf and I loved it. It has a lot of valuable information that any person interested in rhinoplasty must read. I read it all in a week and I am very thankful I did. I learned aspects of the rhinoplasty process I was not aware of it. The pros and cons were mentioned there as well as a lot of other important information to consider before having a rhinoplasty.

When I arrived at the 8 West Clinic for my consultation with Dr. Buonassisi I felt so comfortable. Once I met the doctor I immediately knew he was the one. He listened and took the time to talk to me and create a plan we both felt comfortable with. He offered me very realistic results in what he was able to perform and I felt I was in the right hands.

I left his clinic very happy as I never felt pressured or rushed by anyone in his clinic to book the surgery. I went home to share the news with my husband and I booked my rhinoplasty for October 2023. I went to meet with Dr. Buonassisi on March 2023 but I had to plan my surgery as I had to check with my family about the support I needed post-surgery. Having a good recovery is a must thing to do. I have two kids so my schedule runs on my family's needs too.

The day of the surgery I felt nervous but confident I was in the right hands. The clinic where I had my rhinoplasty was located in Vancouver in a very accessible area close to my home. When I arrived at the clinic every person I interacted with was professional. I had a moment to relax while everything was getting ready for my rhinoplasty. I like to meditate to calm down my nerves. I was feeling emotional as I was about to change something that had been in the back of my head for a lot of years.

During the surgery, I was awake the entire time. Dr. Buonassisi used the Twilight Sedation and it did not make me sleepy. I had my eyes closed but I was aware of my surroundings. I was just enjoying the music that was playing in the background. I was in a very calm state of mind. The nurses who spoke with me before the surgery told me wonderful things about Dr. Buonassisi. They told me he was very good and everybody was very happy to work with such a great skilled and down-to-earth surgeon.

The next day after the surgery I thought I was going to feel I got beat up by a professional boxer but it was not the case at all. I did not wake up all bruised and in pain. My face was a bit puffy but not in pain. To be very honest I was very surprised to feel that wonderful. Days 2 to 4 were very easy to handle. By day 3 I stopped using the painkillers I got prescribed as I felt the pain was easy to handle. I was very happy to feel that great so my recovery was even better than I expected. I just took my days very easy as my family helped me to have the time to heal properly.

It has been six weeks post op and I could not be happier. From the initial consultation with Dr. Buonassisi, I knew I had chosen the right doctor to do my Rhinoplasty. I couldn't have made a better choice! My new nose is very beautiful. It still needs a lot of months to fully heal but I am so happy with the results.

I highly recommend Dr. Buonassisi. He is extremely professional and has both excellent skills and a wonderful bedside manner. You will see his great skills when you look at his before and after pictures. But you will be so glad you chose him as your surgeon. Thank you Dr. Buonassisi for giving me the gift of a nicer nose. I am writing this review with the hope that my experience can help someone out there who is considering rhinoplasty.
