Ultherapy is a highly customizable treatment, and the experience of the treating physician plays a huge role in giving patients the optimal results. Without evaluating you in-person I cannot tell you what treatment is appropriate for you. I can tell you that in my opinion, I consider treatment with 1.5mm and 3.0mm to be "watered down". You will not get much in the way of skin tightening without treating the 4.5mm layer. You may get some improvement in wrinkle reduction, but it is mostly the 1.5mm treatment that is responsible for that. Results of Ultherapy can take up to 6 months for full effect.
Depending on the area of the face, the 3mm deep transducer might be the deepest transducer that can be used if the bone is not very deep. The 3mm deep transducer can effect dermal collagen tightening and help produce new collagen without the SMAS connective tissue layer being affected. Normally in the cheek, the 4.5mm deep transducer is used for the mid cheek to reach the SMAS but the 3mm can certainly provide some improvement.
Hi MaLg,The ulthera treatment that you had should give you improvement of your skin and wrinkles as well as giving you some lift. Depending on the patients anatomy, the 4.5mm depth transducer is best for lifting. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
The results from ultherapy are not evident for many months. I often combine this treatment with fractional laser or RF and microneedling to get more impact onto collagen production and to help superficial wrinkling/crepe skin. Also adding sculptra to the mix helps influence skin lifting and tightening. I tell people that a combination gives much better results than any single treatment and I suggest finding a physician who is an expert in all of these cosmetic options. Best, Dr. Emer.
The goal with Ultherapy is to firm the skin, lift and tighten, and decrease wrinkles. It works best for the areas of the lower face, along the jawline, and the neck. It can also work to lift eyebrows and is now being used for the chest area, and even off of the chest on the rest of the body. Results are not visible until about 2-3 months after the treatment. It is normal to have some tenderness, a bruise like feeling, and nerve tingling after the procedure. There may be mild swelling and redness and you can get a true bruise (usually about 10% of patients may bruise). Ultherapy is very "user dependent". This means that you really need your technician to have a lot of experience, and to care about the outcome for the individual patient. If the technician is under-experienced or simply doing the procedure without really trying to get great results, you may not achieve the outcome that you are looking for. Using the 3.0mm transducer should lead to some tightening for you.
Yes it will provide some skin tightening, The 3.0 delivers heat in the deep dermis and stimulates collagen development. As a result you will see some skin tightening about 3-6 months after the procedure.
Ulthera helps tighten the skin and improves theappearance of fine lines by treating the skin at multiple depths. Yes 3.0 willhelp with skin tightening. Therecommended depths vary based on the location you are treating.
The Ultherapy 1.5 mm and 3 mm transducers are for superficial skin structures under and around the eyes and lips and face/neck respectively and are used for fine wrinkles. The 4.5 mm transducers are most likely to give you substantial tightening of the SMAS layer.Read the Ultherapy book provided on the link below.
There is more of a conflict between the Ultherapy and the facial fillers than between the IPL and the Ultherapy. The sequencing is really the trick with this one, most facial fillers are hylauranic acid based or calcium beads suspended in a glucose gel matrix both the glucose gel matrix and the...
Bruising after Ultherapy can occur although it is not very common in our practice. We have noticed that patients with thinner skin or who are more prone to bruising easily have the most trouble with this. With patients who fit these categories we try our best to have the patients refrain from...
No. Icing the treatment area before doing Ultherapy will not reduce the effect of your Ulthera treatment.
