Ultherapy continues to be the clear leader in non surgical face and neck lifting as it addresses the supporting soft tissue of the SMAS layer. An excellent choice with excellent results. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
These technologies are very different. Ultherapy has been demonstrated to be effective through numerous well controlled clinical trials. Ultherapy is the only technology which has an indication for noninvasive lifting of the eyebrows and the skin under the chin. I would recommend treatment with a device which has been tested and studied extensively. That said, there are no guarantees as to outcome with any noninvasive skin tightening device. I would find a physician who you trust and follow their recommendations.
Hi,We have had both devices for several years. Ultherapy is the only FDA cleared device for non surgical lifting. Ultherapy uses micro focused ultrasound to go deeper and last longer. Exilis is radiofrequency to tighten skin and requires more treatments and doesn’t last as long. We go over the pros and cons of both devices in consultations and make recommendations based on the patient’s individual preferences and skin type.Warmly,Dr.Liu
Exilis is the FDA approved non-invasive treatment for body shaping and skin tightening. It uses monopolar RF (radio frequency) to deliver controlled heat approximately 1-3 cm under the skin.Ultherapy is FDA approved for non surgical tightening of the skin using high frequency ultrasound and is time tested and effective in treating laxity of the skin of the face, neck, decolletage. It is also FDA cleared for a non surgical eyebrow lift. Read the Ultherapy book on the link below.
I am sorry to hear about your experience. Be assured that this is likely to be a temporary phenomenon. The duration of effect of these types of changes is typically similar to the duration of effect of Botox injections. You may wish to both discuss this with your treating...
Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen production and skin tightening. It is FDA approved for lifting, toning, and tightening the skin of the face, neck and chest. In the right hands Ultherapy does not produce scarring, but it is not a treatment to improve scarring either...
We are one of the very few clinics in California that offers both Ultherapy and Thermage and we routinely provided ibuprofen and/or intramuscular Ketorolac for pain relief and have not seen it to impact efficacy as far as lifting or skin tightening benefit of these noninvasive technologies.
