I would tell you that icing before Ultherapy is not necessary but also should not negatively impact your results. We generally do Ultherapy with the assistance of nerve blocks which effectively numb the entire treated area prior to treatment. Ultherapy gets great results by focusing significant amounts of heat in the subdermal region as a result it can have a tendency to hurt a bit (different patients will experience different amounts of discomfort) for patients who are particularly worried about the pain associated with the procedure we also offer it under IV sedation.
I do not think that icing the face before an Ultherapy treatment would reduce the results of the procedure. I have not found that icing has been necessary however. There are a variety of methods that can be used to deal with pain during the treatment, including oral medications, nerve blocks, and topical preparations. Different physicians may use different pain reduction techniques.
No. Icing the treatment area before doing Ultherapy will not reduce the effect of your Ulthera treatment.
I have done hundreds of Ultherapy procedures and never found a need to ice before or after the procedure.Ultherapy uses HIFU (high frequency ultrasound energy) which is focused 1.5 mm to 4.5 mm from the outer layer of the skin. There is no need to ice or cool the skin as in some types of LPD lasers, for example. Hopefully, your provider has upgraded his device as the new upgrades are as efficacious, if not more efficacious than the initial model and achieve the same end goal using less energy (power, intensity), which translates into LESS PAIN.I recommend a product called Swell-X for a week after the procedure and ibuprofen. Read the Ultherapy book provided on the link below.
Interesting that you ask this question, because I am conducting a research project examining this exact indication! We are conducting a study, currently in progress, looking pre treatment and post treatment measurements to evaluate if there is breast lifting and how much. You may have seen th...
Though it would be better to make a plan after an in person exam, your photo clearly show loss of volume in your cheek area. That said, that could be improved with fillers such as Radiesse or Voluma. Combining that with Ultherapy to address your jowls could give you a great non-surgical plan.
Hi,We have had both devices for several years. Ultherapy is the only FDA cleared device for non surgical lifting. Ultherapy uses micro focused ultrasound to go deeper and last longer. Exilis is radiofrequency to tighten skin and requires more treatments and doesn’t last as long. We go over ...
