I was slapped on the butt at 3 weeks post-op, could my results be damaged?

As you may imagine, there is no real data on that so it would be hard to intelligently comment.  Trauma of any sort has the potential to damage fat or tissue, but slaps on your buttocks by your aunt should not reduce the long-term viability of your fat.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Thank you for your question.  The pressure caused by a slap is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so you shouldn't have to worry. If you are very concerned, best is to discuss specifically with the operating surgeon so that he /she can take a look. Good luck!
