I have a visible blue/green vein on my forehead after Botox, which I noticed the same day as the injection. Will it go away?

I've been getting botox for about a 1.5 years. I had Botox on Tues and today is Fri. when got home I saw a blue/green vein in the middle of my forehead. The area around it does not appear to be bruised. I called the Dr. about it the next day, he said that I was bleeding a little more than normal and he did notice the "bruised" vein that was slightly to the left of the middle of my forehead. He said give it 3/4 days that it would go away, it was just bruising. It's not going away, super worried

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your side effect.  At times the swelling from Botox placement can cause veins to temporarily appear more prominent.  I know waiting is difficult but allow at least a full two weeks to pass, your results should steadily improve.

Firstly, you did not grow a vein from Botox injection. Secondly, if one popped out from having fluid around it that will resolve quickly. If bruised it can take 10-14 days until evolves from bruise to green to yellow etc and gone. Be patient. I do not think anything permanent has happened.

This may be bruising or a vein that appears more prominent due to swelling of the area in response to the injection. As long as it is not painful or hard, or getting worse, I would give it two weeks to go back to normal.

Anything that appears right after injection can only be from the needle itself, not from Botox. So do not be afraid fearing hat this might last for months. The swelling after a small bleeding can reduce the flow in the veins affected leading to a more prominent vein for a few days. It will pass in a few days.
