Will front-cheek filler help with under eyebag? Its only the one side (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Filler does not remove under-eye "bags." What it does is add to the adjacent hollow area to provide s smooth appearance. That would likely provide you with the look you want. The best filler in this location,  in my opinion,  is Belotero, which is soft and smooth and does not risk the bluish tinge of many other products.

There are many other treatments,  which might also help in the area, such as fractional radiofrequency or microneedling with PRP. PRP can also be mixed with the filler.

If you really have issues with tearing from that eye, I would recommend you see an ophthalmologist before pursuing cosmetic treatments.

Will repeated injections of Radiesse build volume at the mandibular angle past the 18-month mark?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

While Radiesse does produce some collagen stimulation, the effect is not permanent and is usually quite mild. The primary effects of Radiesse are through its direct addition of volume. Radiesse is an excellent product for use in mandibular contour modifications, but it does need to be injected every year or two in most people. Alternative fillers include Voluma, Restylane Lyft (both hyaluronic acid fillers) and Bellafill (which contains polymethylmethacrylate microspheres and last up to 5 years). PLLA and PDO threads, which also stimulate collagen, have been used, as well, but the effects are gone within a couple years.

How can I remove the lumpiness caused by fillers from under the eye? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Lumps can arise from filler, itself, as well as from an inflammatory reaction to the filler. While most fillers go away in two years, the area under the eye is one where they last longest. Hopefully,  your injector used a hyaluronic acid filler. In that case, any remaining filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Any residual inflammation should get better with time after that or can be helped along with low dose steroids. If there is infection (less likely), it can be treated with antibiotics.

Am I a candidate for under eye fillers?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Your photos demonstrate hollowness under the eyes, with darkness due both shadows and visibility of the underlying muscle and blood vessels, which are bluish, through the thin skin. You are an excellent candidate for filler in the area (called the tear trough). The filler used should be a hyaluronic acid filler, which has a soft, smooth appearance. I prefer Belotero in this location.

You also have lost some fullness in your cheeks, which contributes to sagging and parenthesis lines from nose to mouth. This also contributes to an older, tired appearance and you might consider cheek filler, used for a natural effect with a little more fullness and support. For this area, I would suggest Juvederm Voluma, Radiesse, or Restylane Lyft.

Under eye hollows after nose surgery, would filler help? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

There are various methods to improve the appearance of the under eye area. For hollowness such as you display, volume replacement with a filler,  such as Belotero, potentially combined with PRP or PRF, or fat transfer, or PDO threads are all options. These can be combined with micro needling or, more powerfully, fractional radiofrequency treatments to improve skin tone and texture. Your photo does not permit assessment of the adjacent areas for more complete assessment of facial balance and the condition of the surrounding skin, which would allow a more detailed discussion. This can be undertaken with your plastic surgeon or another appropriate expert.

Best wishes,

Bulging temporalis after botox - How can I fix this? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This does not appear to be your temporalis muscle. Rather the parts of your frontalis at the temples are the only ones not affected by the Botox, while you have had complete paralysis of the remainder. These small areas if the muscle are working overtime, holding up the corners of your eyebrows. The muscle activity can be reduced by additional Botox in this part of the muscle. Since you will have such complete muscle paralysis, you may also need some Botox added below the brows for balance, to keep them from falling. In future, you will either need to include these areas in your Botox injections or use slightly less Botox, without injection as low in the forehead, leaving some brow motion.

My face is so red after microdermabrasion +chemical peel is it common ? And how many days it takes to get normal? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Combining microdermabrasion with chemical peel is quite aggressive. The microdermabrasion removes some if the surface layer of skin and causes the peel agents to go deeper. Your skin looks quite irritated. You should have been provided with calming and moisturizing products for hone care after your treatment. If you were not, or if this does not improve in the next day or two, or it gets worse, go see your provider.

Is it normal to have lumps and swelling on one side of the nasobial line after juvederm? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It is common to have bruising and swelling after filler injection. This should improve over the next 1-2 weeks. You may be able to minimize it with ice packs and Arnica (cream or gel and by mouth).

1 week post op of Juvederm lip injections/Botox. Should my lips still look small? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Most fillers, including Juvederm, come in 1 ml syringes. These generally add significant fullness but possibly not as much as you desire. It takes about two weeks from injection for the final result to emerge. If you want fuller lips, you can return to your doctor for additional filler.

As for the Botox, this also takes up to two weeks for full muscle impact. It can take even longer for deeply etched wrinkles to improve, the skin remodels.  Sometimes it can take months and multiple rounds if Botox for optimal results. Improvement in resting wrinkles can be sped up by adding fractional radiofrequency treatments,  chemical peels, microdermabrasion, daily skin care regimens and more,  which you can discuss with your doctor. If you still have movement, which produces increased wrinkles as compared to what you see at rest, you can have additional  Botox injected.

One of the great things about both fillers and Botox is that one can start with smaller amounts and add to get optimal results. Then, at future visits, the total amount used and result desired will be known and full results can be achieved at once.

Radiesse In Jaw. When can I sleep on my side?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Radiesse location should not be impacted by your sleep position, so you can feel free to sleep as you are comfirtable from that point of view. Side sleeping can cause wrinkling of the skin.

I hope this is helpful.

Wonderful results!

I decided to tackle my facial scars and aging skin with Fractora. So far I’ve had 3 treatments over a 9 month period. I’ve noticed a deep wrinkle going down my cheek (created by repeated facial expressions) that is now gone. Skin texture has improved. The setting is intimate, which allows for better one on one time to discuss concerns. She spends the time to review options and fully assess your needs.

Kind, Gentle, Patient and Knowledgable

I received Botox for the first time ever from Dr. Kafka and she was very kind, gentle and knowledgable. My pesky forehead wrinkle went from very deep to barely noticeable and I will definitely be going back in the future.

Botched Lips - New York

What a strange and terrible experience - totally botched my lips, and she admitted to an uneven fill. Her office is located inside of a creepy apartment building where she has her entire setup inside of a 5'x 5' room. She injected 1cc of Juvederm almost entirely in my top lip, which came out completely uneven and overfilled. I let the swelling go down for a week, revealing a gaping hole in my lip. I have had injections before, and one week was enough for me to see that things were not healing normally. Although she was very responsive to my calls, and when I came back in for a fix, she tried massaging it (which did nothing), became very rude and impatient when I asked her to dissolve my lips, which she angrily did (without even giving me numbing cream) like i was being punished. She resembled a child having a tantrum, sighing loudly, trying to convince me I looked okay - when I looked totally ridiculous. Luckily after she injected hyaluronidase, my lips started to go down within 2 hours and are almost back to normal - I am still left with a gaping hole in my top lip, which she told me she wouldn't fix because I made the choice to dissolve. Sorry Dr. Kafka I will never come back again.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty

I have been wanting rhinoplasty since I was a kid, as my bump and length of my nose has always bothered me. This has caused me to absolutely hate my profile in photos and become self conscious about others noticing. I made the decision to seek consultations about 3 months ago and went to 5 doctors to get opinions. I ended up choosing the doctor who made me feel most comfortable and understood exactly what I wanted done. Updated on 31 Oct 2017: Not a whole lot of pain today, mostly uncomfortable. I slept a good portion of the day Updated on 31 Oct 2017: Here is some more before pictures to show different angles that I've hated! Updated on 3 Nov 2017: Starting to feel back to normal. Swelling has gone down in my eyes and feeling slightly less congested. I actually left the house today to visit a friend, at first was a little embarrassed when passing neighbors but quickly owned it and got over that! It was just nice to leave the house and feel some sort of normalcy. I also got through the whole day without feeling exhausted (I've been crashing around 2pm everyday and last night when to bed at 8pm. I'm so eager to get this thing off in 3 days!! Updated on 6 Nov 2017: I got my cast off this morning! It was such a relief because it had started getting itchy and irritating. It didn't hurt getting it off, more of a quick soreness. But boy is it sore now! I can't stop touching the slow (no more bump!!) and doing the compression exercises as there is quite a bit of swelling at the tip. But I can already tell I love it and am so happy with the results!! Here's some comparison pics.
