Is it normal two weeks after Lipo to be larger in my stomach and thighs than I was before Lipo??? I understand the swelling part, I just didn't know I would be larger than before the Lipo surgery.
Answer: It’s Been Two Weeks After Lipo and I Can’t Wear My Jeans? Liposuction Results Take 1 to 4 Months Liposuction is a surgical procedure that may create some trauma in your body. Some people recover quickly with no bruising, swelling or discomfort. Others may take a couple of weeks before the swelling quiets down. Your experience at this point after your procedure is perfectly normal. If you want to fit into your jeans, you can try wearing a compression bandage or Spanx underneath. Other than that, just be patient with your body as it heals and eliminates all of the dead fat cells. You’ll see your final results somewhere between the 1- and 4-month marks. If you don’t notice a difference by then, please consult the board-certified dermatologist who treated you. I suspect, however, that you’ll be very pleased with your new figure at that point!

Answer: Liposuction Hi, Congratulations on your surgery! Thank you for your post. You are still very early in the healing process. It takes about 3 months before you have a good idea of what your results will look like. At this point the majority of the swelling has subsided and you will continue to heal for up to 6 months. Remember to eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water. I would recommend following up with your plastic surgeon if you have any concerns.

Answer: Healing after Liposuction Thank you for your question. You may still be swollen and for that reason your jeans still don't fit. Healing after liposuction is usually pretty straight forward. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.

Answer: Swelling after liposuction Dear kevbev,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a liposuction. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process at 2 weeks post op. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery. Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Swelling After Liposuction kevbev. I understand your concern and you are describing a very common misconception about liposuction. Swelling after the first 4 weeks after liposuction can be significant and disheartening! This is normal and WILL SUBSIDE. Patience, continued garment use and followup with your surgeon is best advice for now. Complete resolution of swelling can take 4-6 months, so hang in there. Good luck!
