Dr. Nathan is FANTASTIC. I am 35 and have 3 kids (8, 6, 4). I had diastasis recti and tons of extra skin. I also had a hernia job done by a previous doctor that I was not happy with. Dr. Nathan listened and made sure I was ready for my procedure, had the best bedside manner and is super talented! He’s personable and remembers everything you tell him! Very impressive:) I’m over the moon satisfied with my tummy tuck and would have not gone through with this procedure if I didn’t have the confidence in my surgeon.
I was very nervous about getting a breast reduction and spoke to 3 doctors. As soon as I met Dr. Nathan, I knew he was the best doctor by far. I am beyond thrilled with my results! Dr. Nathan and his team are the best! They have taken excellent care of me. His nurse Carol is so caring and goes above and beyond to help answer any questions I had. I am so thankful for Dr. Nathan and his team!
Allow me to introduce my needs as patient of Dr. Nathan for the last 11 years. 11 years ago in my 20’s I had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Nathan. He created the natural look and confidence I desired. Fast forward to 11 years later …. I am now a 37 year old Mom of 2. I barely reach 5’3 and have had 2 C-sections to larger babies. This left me with a weak abdominal wall called disas recti and loose skin over my caesarean incision. “The shelf” After having children I felt my once natural siloette of curves turned more “boxy” caused by the loose skin. I had reservations of what exact procedure to get, the WHY, what to expect and healing time. (Not to mention letting go as Mom and know my kids would be taken care of just fine during recovery.) Dr. Nathan and his staff answered all my questions guiding me to the right choice and throughout my surgery experience. I’m a few weeks out from my second breast augmentation, full abdominoplasty and liposuction of hip area. I needed this correction from the inside out. For me. I would do it all over again and again. In my network and professional world I have seen a great amount of Dr. Nathan’s beautiful work. I am doubly confident to say, Dr. Nathan is a very talented cosmetic surgeon, with sincere knowledge and a calming precsence. Do yourself the exterior and inner self treatment of a lifetime and have him work all his expertise for you.
I am 25 years old and have two kids. Prior to meeting Dr. Nathan I had not worn a pair of shorts in 5 years. I would look away when walking by a mirror or a window with a reflection. I dreamed of wearing the crop tops and high waisted leggings or high waisted jeans with my shirt tucked in that girls my age or even older wear now a days. I had two c-sections and weight fluctuation within those 5 years that left me with a huge “apron” on my tummy and breast that had zero volume and hung low. I was so nervous to have Dr. Nathan and his staff see me without clothes on, I was scared of what their thoughts would be. Dr. Nathan and his nurse Carol could not have made me feel more comfortable then they did. Not once did I get a weird look or remark. They had nothing but uplifting positive things to say to me and my husband who was there to support me. I am now 6 weeks post op of an extended tummy tuck, lipo to flanks, muscle repair and a breast lift. I feel and look AMAZING!!! Dr. Nathan did a phenomenal job! My scars are almost invisible already and my belly button is the cutest to look at! Dr. Nathan gave me my confidence back and I could not thank him enough.
There are not enough words to express how well respected Dr. Nathan is, in my personal and professional opinion! His professionalism, personal approach to patient care, and superb work honestly speaks for itself! He is simply One of the best in the industry. Thanks for you amazing work and the comfort you instill in your patients, Dr. Nathan...
I have known Dr.Nathan for over 10 years. From his staff to his professionalism at my consult I can't say enough. Dr.Nathan's goals for me are always realistic one thing I admire about him is he continually cares about my total body health. I have been an athlete and workout queen my whole life after suffering from diastases recti after my third child I came to Dr.Nathan needing some help I decided to go with a full tummy tuck and liposuction. Two days after surgery I looked in the mirror and never felt more like myself again. I can't thank him enough for helping me feel like me . I highly recommend St.Louis Cosmetic Surgery . Thank you again Dr.Nathan.
I'm only 3 weeks post-surgery from a mommy makeover with Dr. Nathan. I am already thrilled with my results even though I still have recovery time ahead of me. Dr Nathan was very easy to talk to and set realistic expectations throughout the process. He helped me make the best decision on my breast augmentation and tummy tuck with no pressure at all. On surgery day his confidence kept me calm. He followed up with my husband personally on how the surgery went. I can't wait to see my end results but I feel very confident in recommending Dr. Nathan just as friends recommended him to me. His nurse Carol is also amazing with follow up questions and appointments. Everyone at St Louis Cosmetic Surgery was wonderful to work with. I can't say enough great things!
I spent 4 years researching and debating on whether I should move forward with BA and lift. I was worried about scarring, cost, caring for my kids, etc. I am 11 days post op. And would do this surgery (with Dr. Nathan, anyway) again in a heartbeat. I researched hundreds of surgeons trying to decide who to go with. I finally decided on Dr. Nathan and, despite glowing reviews, was still hesitant. Once I met him I was immediately comfortable. He spends his time with you, listens to what you want, and is very patient. He was wonderful to work with from the first consult, surgery day, and follow-ups. He seems to truly care about you as a patient. I look forward to working with him throughout the rest of my healing process as well as future surgeries as needed. I feel the need to comment on St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery and Spa as well. They have amazing staff through every step. The receptionist of welcoming and knowledgeable, billing is friendly, and Dr Nathan’s nurse is wonderful. The facility is clean and beautiful. Also the Frontenac surgery center where my actual surgery was had amazing and comforting nurses as well. My entire process was flawless. I am extremely happy with my results so far. I was very concerned with being too large after surgery. Dr. Nathan listened and I am very happy with my size. My recovery has been very easy. I was on pain medicine for two days and have been in virtually no pain since. While I am not sure on all of the factors that contribute,I have read a gentle and meticulous surgeon can make all the difference in pain levels. I largely credit my quick recovery to Dr. Nathan. I would recommend him without any hesitation.
I am scheduled for a breast augmentation on 10/16. I'm 36, 5'5, 122lbs and a small B / A. I have two kids (8 and 9) and won't be having anymore. I've been wanting to get my boobs done for as long as I can remember. Anytime I've mentioned that I wanted to do this, my friends and husband always tell me I don't need it and / or they like my boobs as they are. I decided earlier this year that I'm not listening to anyone else anymore and I'm doing it. My husband is now totally onboard because he knows this will help with my confidence. My preop is tomorrow. We'll decide on sizing, but I have a pretty good idea of what I want from obsessing over pics on Real Self. :) Before pics are attached. Updated on 30 Sep 2020: Wish pics are attached. I want to be a full C / small D. I'm thinking 325 to 385 ccs. I want a natural, not too big look, but I also don't want to go too small! Do you all think this would be a good number of cc's for the look I want? Updated on 1 Oct 2020: I had my pre-op yesterday and met with Dr. Nathan for the first time in person. The consultation was virtual. Dr. Nathan is super down to earth and his staff is great! We did the vectra imaging, which was super cool and I tried on a few sizes. We decided on 375 cc moderate profile, soft touch silicone. It was between 375 and 340. Both looked great, but I’ve read so much that you should go with the bigger option. Now I just hope they aren’t too big! Attached are the 3D images with my chosen size. Updated on 16 Oct 2020: Surgery is done and I’m home resting. It went really well and happened much quicker than I anticipated! Everyone at the surgery center was so nice and I love how confident Dr. Nathan is. I trusted him completely. We had planned on 325 to 400ccs, landing on 375 at preop, and the more I thought about it and the more pics I’d seen, I decided I’d rather go smaller than bigger. I would like to be natural looking and was worried any more would be too big. I gave Dr. Nathan this feedback right before and he decided to do 340. So far , they look alright. I was expecting them to be up closer to my collar bone, but they don’t seem too terribly high yet. They are definitely swollen and hard. I’ve been taken Valium, which is what I was told would be my friend, lol, and a half of a norco. Hopefully this helps! The pain isn’t too bad, more like the aftermath of a super intense chest exercise. I’ve been able to use my arms more that I thought I would, but am being careful to not overdo it. I accidentally did a kind of push up getting out of bed and I 10/10 do not recommend! My husband has been a great caretaker! I can’t wait to take the bra and fluff off to see what they look like on Sunday! I had never been under anesthesia, so was a bit nervous, but it was pretty straight forward. One moment I was a scooching over to another bed in the surgery room and that’s the last I remember before I woke up. I apparently asked for a coke, which is weird because I don’t drink soda. The nurse said she cold tell because I made a face when i took a drink, lol. I let the anesthesiologist know that I am susceptible to motion sickness, so they gave me a zofran and a patch behind the ear that I can leave on up to 3 days, but I’ll likely take it off tomorrow. I had no issues. I’ll provide more updates and pics after my shower! Stats: 5’5” 122 lbs BWD 12, I think Pre op- 34 small B, large A 340cc inspira soft touch round silicone gummy bear, moderate profile Updated on 17 Oct 2020: They definitely hurt more today.. I’ve been taking lhalf a Norco and Valium every 6 hours or so. I’m not supposed to shower or take anything off until tomorrow, but I had to take a sneak peek. Pics are attached. Thy are pretty high and hard! The only complaint I really have right now is from the motion sickness patch they put behind my ear. I took it off his morning, ,but my eyesight is pretty blurry. Typing this review has been challenging! Updated on 17 Oct 2020: Forgot to upload to the last post! Updated on 18 Oct 2020: I feel pretty good today. Trying to stick with Tylenol instead of the Norcos. I think I tried doing too much around the house yesterday, so I’m attempting a lazy Sunday. I took a shower today and was able to do everything myself.. it was glorious. Sleeping on my pillow mountain has been surprisingly easy. The heating pad on my back has been a lifesaver. Here are a couple pics in my surgery bra. I plan to try on fun clothes soon! Updated on 19 Oct 2020: I’m not sure if anyone even reads these, but I know that i scoured through like every single review and update I could before my surgery, so figured I’d pay it forward in case anyone is following! I’ve always heard that day 2 and 3 are the worst, but to be honest, I’ve been feeling pretty good! I’m back to work today (at home), but will likely still take it easy. I’ve been pretty sleepy. I have my one week follow up in a few day’s and I can’t wait to change into a more comfortable bra! Pics I took this morning are attached. I’m biased, but I think they’re looking pretty good! Updated on 20 Oct 2020: Day 4 PO Still sore and hard, but I’m off the prescription drugs now. My husband said they look bigger than they did at first. Wanted to make a quick update because, look, cleavage! :) Updated on 21 Oct 2020: Not much change, but I did notice some stretch marks today. . Hopefully they fade! Also tried on a dress that I think made my boobs look good! My one week check up is Friday. I promise to not post until after then! It’s just kind of fun to document my progress. Updated on 26 Oct 2020: Still riding high, but definitely getting squishier. I’m sleeping on my sides pretty comfortably. I wake up really early and they are pretty sore, so I’ll take some Tylenol and go back to bed. Other than that, feeling pretty good! Updated on 27 Oct 2020: I tried on a couple of my old swimsuits today that I never quite liked the fit before. Boobs help for sure! Updated on 2 Nov 2020: My recovery process had been so smooth. My breast skin and nipples are sometimes really sensitive, but I’m feeling great otherwise. I have another follow up appointment next week and am hoping to be cleared to start working out again. I also can’t wait until the surgical glue is off the incisions. I’m anxious to start treating the scars, and also to not have black lines under my boobs... Updated on 4 Nov 2020: I went to Victoria’s Secret and was sized today. 32DD?!? The fitting rooms are closed, so I couldn’t try any on there, so I fully expected to try it on at home and have to return it. But, if anything, it’s a little tight! I know their sizes run small, but i was still shocked! I’m not mad about it though. It’s much better than my barely fit size Bs. Updated on 5 Nov 2020: Before and after Updated on 13 Nov 2020: I am so happy with my results! I’ve been cleared to work out again and started scar treatment this week. I do sometimes feel a little boob greed, but I honestly do think they fit my body well. If you are on the fence, i say do it!I also highly recommend Dr. Nathan! Updated on 17 Nov 2020: I ordered a couple of bras from AdoreMe in a 34D. Victoria’s Secret measured me at a 32DD, but I was pretty sure that was only in their sizes. Anybody know why they measure you bigger than you are there? Anyway, I’ve measured myself at home and thought I was a C, but these new bras actually fit me pretty well, so I guess I’m a D! Updated on 21 Dec 2020: I can’t believe it’s been over 9 weeks now! My boobs are a part of me and I can’t imagine not having them. I am so happy I made the decision to do this! I still get random ‘zingers’ occasionally. Working out is almost completely back to normal, minus pull ups, which I’m not quite ready for yet. Updated on 24 Feb 2021: Had my 4 month appt today. Everything is ready! My scars are still kind of dark and raised, so he injected a steroid into them to hopefully thin and lighten them up. I also purchased a different scar cream since it doesn’t seem like the silicone cream is doing much. Overall, I am very happy! The pic is a pic of a paper print out, so not the greatest quality, sorry!
I would give Dr. Nathan and his staff a hundred stars if I could! After wasting my money with a popular chain plastic surgery company which gave me zero results, I decided to give St. Louis Cosmetology and Spa a call. I was highly impressed with the friendliness of the entire staff. Within seconds of looking at me, Dr. Nathan knew that my issue was Diastasis Recti and a tummy tuck would be the best option to resolve my problem. Dr. Nathan set realistic expectations regarding the results and process. I found him to be very knowledgeable and thorough; I could definitely tell that he took pride in his work. I did not feel the pressure of a salesperson like I did at the previous place. It has been a little over 6 weeks since my procedure and I am beyond happy. My overall experience was impeccable. My only regret is that I didn’t contact Dr. Nathan sooner.
Ideal had a recall with some lots of their implants. There was a manufacturing issue that allows the fill valve to open, causing deflations. The implant is currently off the market but their warranty should stand as far as covering some costs with replacement. If you want to stick with saline, I would consider another manufacturer.
The difference in your final result would depend on how much rectus muscle(six pack) separation you currently have. Patients that have multiple children and or c-sections may have significant muscle separation and thus have a protuberant lower abdomen and sometime lower back pain due to the lack of core support. A plastic surgeon will usually examine you in standing and supine position and while laying have you do half a sit up and palpate your muscles. If you have a significant muscle separation, most likely you would benefit from muscle repair if you are healthy. The muscle repair does contribute to more post-op pain and some increased risks. An in person exam should answer your question and give you the best options.
It is important to understand how the skin excision affects the final outcome. Where the incision ends is essentially where the result ends. It appears you have significant skin laxity that extends 360 degrees. This is fairly common after such significant and awesome weight loss. If you have an incision that extends from outer hip to hip you will get rid of most of the front skin excess but the sides and back will remain. Will you be happy with this? I would recommend another consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon experienced with massive weight loss procedures and make sure your expectations will match the result. Good luck and congrats on your weight loss!
It appears by the photos that your breast tissue is sagging off the implant position. This may occur with aging, weight loss or simply time. You may need a lift to reposition the breast tissue so it is centered over the implant. A in person consultation will address your issues.
To achieve a tighter and flatter abdomen, a tummy tuck would be ideal. A tummy tuck with lips will eliminate the loose overhanging skin and repair your core muscles. Typically an overnight stay and most patients return to work by two weeks out from surgery. Lipo alone will not eliminate the loose skin and may make it worse. You are correct in getting to your ideal weight prior to the procedure. Good luck!
