Yes is the answer. Cool Mini is approved by the FDA for some degree of skin tightening. But if you have more than desired skin laxity after Coolsculpting of the neck, there are options available to give you an even more contoured jawline.
If you are afraid that you might have loose skin after CoolSculpting to eliminate a double chin, you might want to look into ThermiSculpture instead. This is a process our center does where we combine chin liposuction with ThermiTight radiofrequency (RF) treatment. It both eliminates the fat and tightens the submental area. If you’d rather use CoolSculpting, you can add in Ultherapy for skin tightening effects. Kybella can eliminate fat while also tightening the chin skin.If you decide on CoolSculpting and have significant sagging afterward, there is no reason why you couldn’t proceed to surgery, if you wish. However, I think there are better options for you, as outlined above. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who can offer you a variety of remedies for submental fat and potentially sagging skin.
If your coolsculpting helps reduce the fat under the chin, but you then have too much skin (which is uncommon), you can certainly get surgery to correct this. You would want to wait until all of the swelling resolvesAndrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation SpecialistQuintessa Aesthetic Centers
Good question. Without looking at your chin its hard to say if you would have lax skin but even if you develop laxity after coolsculpting (doesn't happen often) there are several non invasive techniques to take care of that. Good luck on getting rid of double chin.
This is difficult to answer without pictures. I find that VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates, but Coolsculpting can be used as an alternative and needs to be combined with Kybella along with thermage/ultherapy/exilis for good results. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
It is definitely possible to have a surgical lift done on the neck after having a CoolSculpting treatment for a double chin. Just be sure to wait at least 12 weeks after your CoolSculpting procedure to see your final results before deciding if a lift is needed.
Coolsculpting under the chin is a noninvasive fat reduction procedure that is a nice alternative to liposuction or surgery. Typically the area under the chin is treated twice, and the best results are achieved at 1-3 months after the second treatment. If the desired result is not achieved , it is certainly possible to proceed with other intervention such as liposuction and or neck lift. However, I would recommend waiting to assess the results of the coolsculpting and also allowing the tissue time to heal, so that the scar tissue from the coolsculpting has started to soften as it remodels.
Hopefully you are just removing fat. Usually CoolSculpting is recommended by providers for removal of fatty tissue and I would imagine that is true in your case. You should do well and the skin should do just fine. If need be, you could easily have a more invasive or non-invasive skin tightening procedure.Good luck!
Getting Coolsculpting will not prevent you from doing something more invasive, in the future. However, loose skin from the Coolsculpting procedure, itself, is exceedingly unlikely! Hope that helps :)
CoolSculpting will usually require several treatments to achieve best results, especially when treating the area under the chin. The results are permanent and natural looking. In the instances where skin laxity becomes noticeable post treatment, surgery is always a viable option which will not be hindered by having had CoolSculpting.
This is a great question. The applicator is positioned based on several factors: orientation of the fatty tissue and where the peak of the fat is. The applicator is normally not placed directly over the belly button since the peak of the "bulge" would not be the belly button. You should consult...
Great question. The reason you see some variability in the answers to the questions regarding swelling duration is that it is very variable from patient to patient as well as area of the body that is treated. I have been treating CoolSculpting patients since 2010, and I would say the average...
We have had a few patients who have become nauseated and actually vomited as their cool sculpting procedure began. It has never persisted for these patients. I would definitely contact your doctor and let him know about this adverse reaction. The doctor can contact Allergan who...
