Like a nurse that charges a daily rate or something? I really want to have a rhinoplasty, but have absolutely no one to care for me afterwards. My doctor refuses to do it if I don't have someone there atleast the first night.
Answer: Care givers after surgery are available As your surgeon about companies in the area they recommend. In our practice, we do have contact information we give out to our patients for staffing companies that offer post surgical care for out of town patients, or those who do not have someone who can assist them after surgery. These providers are usually LPN's or nurses aides. For routine care after a rhinoplasty, highly skilled nursing (RN) is generally not needed. They pick up the patient at the surgicenter, drive them home and stay the night. Most patients just need care for the first 24 hours.

Answer: Postoperative Care It is common for patients from out of town or patients that do not have someone to stay with them, hire a professional nurse to care for them post surgery. You will need someone to stay with you at least the first night, and possibly the second. All my patients either stay in our hotel, with nursing staff present 24/7,or they are released, if and when appropriate, to the care of a companion. I would talk to your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and see whom they would recommend.

Answer: Needing a health care professional after surgery Your doctor should be able to provide you with a phone number or website of an agency, or a care giver that is familiar with post surgery protocol that is for hire. There are many options available for a nurse or nurse assistant that could help you from a few hours, to overnight. If you have to find them for yourself, make sure they are licensed and insured. It's helpful if they can provide references too.
