With Botox I was getting ~3 months before it wearing off and I paid $950 for all 3 areas, with Daxx, I get about ~4 months and pay $1250 ($1350 minus $100 special promotion). I feel the Daxx wears off slower than with Botox. I’ve now had it three times (my third being this past Tuesday on the 28th). Each of the past times I’ve redone my Daxx, I wonder if I am jumping the gun getting it done too soon. I didn’t have that with Botox, the wear off was almost immediate. With Daxx I find that it takes effect is quicker than Botox, but the full effect takes longer ~7-14 days. The full effect is much more frozen as well and the frozen effect is for a full month before slowly wearing off. Overalll, I like Daxx better as I do get that extra month or so, and it looks a bit more natural. I do recommend Dr. Macdonald, I’ve often commented he’s method of both Botox and Daxx has yielded much better results than I got with a dermatologist that I went to before.
Dr Michael R Macdonald is an amazing surgeon . Absolutely phenomenal & his bedside manner is impeccable along with his non-medical verbiage.... very attentive & concerned about his patients. if I could I'd loved for him to have delivered all of my children lol but he's not an obstetrician........ I am an older woman & I LOVE Dr M & staff. Thanks
Had lots of sun damage as well as scars from skin cancer surgery. Had BBL of the entire back. These are the results before, day of, and 3 weeks after just one treatment. The itching was intense during healing but otherwise, minimal discomfort. Just had my second and will post those pictures shortly. Needless to say, I do not get anymore sun….
I truly have nothing but wonderful things to say for Dr. Macdonald and his entire team! I went through 6 different consultations for a rhinoplasty before deciding on Dr. Macdonald. He was incredibly detailed and precise in our consultation, even taking the time to draw how he perceived the surgery to go on paper and walk me through each step. He understood that I wanted to still look like myself, and natural, but without the bump on my nose. I felt that he understood my perception of my nose and set realistic goals for my surgery and what to expect. The consultation was conducted via Facetime, and when I came in person for my pre-op one of the first things he said to me was “wow, you’re tall, let me update my notes.” This goes to show how precise Dr. Macdonald is, even acknowledging my height and accommodating to this to make my face symmetrical. I spoke with him about my concerns both personal ideas and about the surgery/recovery and he talked me through all of this and made me feel at ease. I genuinely knew I could trust this doctor and his team. I am now one week post-surgery and I feel great. I didn’t bruise or have purple/black eyes and the recovery was mild. I was able to call the office with any questions that arose during my recovery, and Keara consistently talked me through and made me feel 100% better. The night of my surgery Dr. Macdonald personally called me to check in, and Keara called me the following day to do the same. I felt cared for and that this office genuinely wants the best for you. If you are looking for a surgeon for ANY needs, I would go to Dr. Macdonald. His team are amazing, caring, and they are not “sales people” trying to talk you into things that are not needed. They are genuine, and real, and will take the utmost care of you. I really can’t thank Dr. Macdonald and his team enough. I am eternally grateful my first major surgery was in your hands and I am so excited for the swelling to continue to go down and see my nose at it’s finest.
I had a liposuction on both the inner and outer thighs, as well as on the abdomen and "love handles" (flanks) done in January. I followed Dr. Macdonald's instructions carefully and started seeing great results relatively quickly after the surgery. Dr. Macdonald is very personable, patient and extremely good at what he does. He answered all of my questions in detail and put my mind at ease before, during and after the surgery. His staff is also amazing. I am very happy that I choose Dr. Macdonald and I highly recommend him.
I have been to Dr. Macdonald’s office for over at least five years. My treatment have been the same ( Nano laser), and the results are great! He is very professional and caring, his technicians are wonderful as well. Especially his office manager Jodi, she is very professional, caring, understanding and always there when I have questions. This office is a professional and honest place to go and get serious results. I went to other place in SF to get Botox done but regret immediately! I should go back to Dr. Macdonald’s office to get Botox! Because I can trust him! The five years Nano laser treatments really removed years of age signs on my face, my skin is tight and healthy, no need much foundation.
It had been over three years since my third nose job (my first was over 20 years ago) ... I had grown more disappointed as the shape of my nose seemed to grow wider with each passing year…. Long story short, I avoided a fourth rhinoplasty thanks to Dr Macdonald!!! For only a few $100 dollars the bumps/crookedness on the sides of my nose disappeared without surgery by simply "injecting steroids" into my nose. I feel truly blessed to have found a surgeon who not only helped me from what I thought was a lost cause (my poor nose) but saved me thousands of dollars in doing so!!! Another rhinoplasty revision would have easily cost me an est. $7,5000… There was no monetary motivation in Dr Macdonald's decision, he simply recommended that we try what was possibly the best medical solution. What more can a patient ask for??? And it worked, when others said it wouldn't…. Words can not express the gratitude I have to Dr Macdonald and his staff at Aesthetic Surgery Center.Last edited 10/20/16
I couldn't be happier with my decision of choosing Dr. Macdonald for my abdominal/flanks liposuction. Even though I work out regularly (I was a fitness instructor for many years) and live a healthy lifestyle, I struggled with getting rid of fat around my midsection. I tried different non-surgical procedures that gave me no results. It wasn't until I met with Dr. Macdonald that I felt confident that I would finally get the results I'd been hoping for. Not only did he have the eye and extensive knowledge to recommend the best approach to achieve my goal; but he carefully took the time to listen to my needs which resulted in the natural look I was wishing for. I’m so happy with the results! With my newly sculpted return to my more feminine shape, I’ve regained the self-confidence that I had lost over time. Beside Dr. Mac's expertise, my main reason for choosing him to do my surgery was the feeling I got of a kind, genuine person that truly cares for making a difference in my life.
I had very noticeable lower eyelid bags and finally had them removed (or the fat rearranged). I had moderate bruising under my eyes for 10 days or so, and my left eye watered excessively for most of that time (both were to be expected). Dr and his staff were terrific from start to finish. Prior to the surgery, I used to wear my glasses even when I didn't need to in order to help hide the bags under my eyes. Now I only wear my glasses when needed.
I decided to have liposuction done on my little lower belly pooch/small fat roll that I've had for the past 8-10 years. I'm in my late 40's and tall and thin but no matter what I did the pooch would not go away. It would hang over my jeans when I sat down and prevented me from wearing slim cut dresses that I love. Dr. Michael MacDonald exceeded my expectations! I haven't seen my stomach this flat for over a decade! Simply amazing! Updated on 14 Jul 2015: 5 days post op. A little sore but no bruising. Nice and flat!!!! Updated on 17 Jul 2015: Dr. MacDonald did such amazing work on my stomach - I love it!
Botox is very effective in relaxing the muscles that cause TMJ(jaw pain). The effect is temporary(3 to 6 months), so you would need to have the treatment repeated a few times a year. A Facial Plastic Surgeon is a good choice since the face is the focus of the practice, but there are other providers that can do this procedure well. Just call the office to see if this is a question the front desk person can readily answer. The treatment can slim the face slightly, but it is very subtle and should not change your face a lot. Good luck and be well!Michael R. Macdonald, MD, FACS, FRCSC
Thank you for your question. I don't see any pictures with your questions, so we would definitely need to see you either virtually or in person to see what you're trying to achieve. Most surgeons will be able to show you before and after photo's from actual patients for a nose result similar to what you're seeking. As far as reshaping and contouring your face, I would definitely need to see what you're trying to achieve to see if it's possible. Be Well!Michael R. Macdonald, MD, FACS, FRCSC
Thank you for your question! Based on the photo's, the little bump would be easily smoothed out with rhinoplasty. I would need to see you in person or through a virtual consult to talk to you about narrowing the bridge since it's not as easy to see that in the photo's. Good luck and be well!Michael R. Macdonald, MD, FACS, FRCSC
Nose asymmetry is very common. The left side of our faces are not a perfect match to the right side(there are always subtle differences). In your case, a consultation would be very helpful. It is difficult to determine from one picture what the solution would be. Many offices(including mine) are offering complimentary Face Time consults during this time when we can't see patients in person. I would recommend a consult, so we can see you from different angles. Then we will be able to give you some options to get the symmetry you're seeking. Be Well.Michael R. Macdonald, MD, FACS, FRCSC
The short answer is yes! Rhinoplasty, when performed correctly will give you natural results so that you look like the best version of yourself possible. I specialize in natural looking results. Find a Board Certified Facial plastic surgeon with plenty of before and after photo's from actual patients. Your consultation should provide you with all of the information you need to move forward.
