What can I achieve with a rhinoplasty? Would I benefit from deprojection? (photos)

Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for rhinoplasty. The bump could be taken down and the bridge narrowed some. The length of the tip could be brought in, and the whole tip size could be reduced. It's important to see a rhinoplasty specialist that can do computer imaging at the same time to determine the final result you would like.

Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. I agree with your assessment and think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you.

A rhinoplasty can deproject the nose by reduce the dorsal hump and reduce tip projection. In the process, the dorsal aesthetic lines can be made more symmetrical and smoother.

When a tip is deprojected, it tends to make the nose *look* longer, as if the tip had dropped. So it's very important to pay attention to the length of the nose, and in most cases, elevate the tip some. Also, in your nose, one of the prominent features is that the nasal bones seem to sit in a wide position, wider on your right than left. The bridge of your nose could be narrowed. That width is the reason one of your 3/4 views shows a bump on the bridge and the other side really doesn't.

How *much* to elevate the tip, or deproject the nose, or make other changes? We figure that out with morphs, well before surgery. I'd love for you to see some excellent professionally-designed morphs of what could possibly be done with your nose. Morphs could also help you identify better just what's bothering you, and help you set a goal for the rhinoplasty that's accurate for your tastes. Profile and three-quarter views would be particularly important in morphing your nose. (Side note: in my opinion, morphs should really be done by the surgeon, or he should direct an assistant as she makes the morphs. Morphs should be made with a constant eye to what actually *can* be done in surgery, for that particular nose, and the surgeon has that information and judgment best.)

Finally, remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. Hi! Your nose is going to look different from different profiles/angles because it is not symmetric, as you can see from the front view. I think a lot of things are possible for you with a rhino! Make sure when you consult you review everything you are bothered by and everything you'd like; the surgeon should tell you what is realistic vs. not. I do think you could handle some deprojection, although it is hard to tell without a full face side view so I'm only going off of the one with a heart. Good luck!

The bony portion of your nose is very wide, your tip is defined and you have asymmetry from side to side. The base with projection of your nose is not equal, you have too much projection. However, a true lateral view would help to determine the size of your nose compared to your chin. You could certainly benefit from a rhinoplasty.

Based on your photos, you appear to have a wide and irregular nasal bridge appearance and a wide amorphous tip. On profile, you appear to have an overprojected nasal tip appearance and a small profile bump. Please consider Consulting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists who offer computer Imaging so you can see what to expect after surgery.
