I am looking into getting a rhinoplasty & getting my deviated septum fixed! What is the best way to go about this? (Photo)

To get a septorhinoplasty, start by identifying 2 or 3 surgeons who specialize in nose surgery and whose work you like. Take the time to browse through different surgeon websites, focusing on those with a substantial number of before-and-after rhinoplasty photos. This will help you gauge their expertise. Next, schedule one or two consultations to discuss your goals and ensure you and the surgeon are aligned. Once you decide on a surgeon and schedule the procedure, make sure to set aside enough time for recovery, and arrange for someone to be with you during the first week post-surgery.

Hi, It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and give you opinion based on your needs and expectations. It is better to do septorhinoplasty "inside/outise" in one surgery.

A rhinoplasty to remove your dorsal hump, slightly lift and refine your tip would be recommended. Usually cartilage grafts are used to support your tip and a septoplasty that harvests this cartilage accomplishes this and corrects septal deviation in one step.

Do your research, and write down all questions that you may have and what you are looking to achieve. When you meet the right person who makes you feel confident that he will be able to address your functional and cosmetic issues, it should become clear to you. Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty, I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you.

Septorhinoplasty is a very common operation and correction of both form and function simultaneously is always the best approach.
Expect bandaging afterwards, possible bruising, and be patient with the final results. You'll have a decent idea after a couple weeks, but results will continue to evolve over months and even a couple years.

Nose surgery with deviated septum will be best treated by a facial plastic surgeon. We train extensively in precisely this. I can already see from your photos that you have breathing issues related to your lower lateral cartilages and upper lateral cartilages as well.

Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal, hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip elevation, among other maneuvers. Septoplasty can also be safely performed at the same time. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result.
