I posted a question similar to this and received septal extension grafts as the answer. I looked into it and it seemed to only fix the projection than the actual height. Is it possible for my nasal base to be lowered by a few millimeters ( maybe 5) to increase how much space my nose takes up on my face and fill in some of the empty space that is in between my nose and lips? I am young and the spacing is due to my nose not being long enough for my face rather than aging

Answer: Increasing the length of the nose of a congenitally short nose Thank you for your query. A septal extension graft as well a cartilage tip graft will increase the length of your nose. A shortening of the upper lip, that is the distance between the lip and the nose does not pull the nasal base down, rather it lifts the upper lip., and hence will not be very useful. Please find an experienced board certified Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. All the best!

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, tensioning the tip is critical to provide tip support, tip derotation, and tip refinement. Tip derotation can be achieved with use of extended spreader grafts. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G.
