How soon does Xeomin begin to work?

All of the neurotoxins take up to 2 weeks to see the full extent of relaxation of the treated muscles.

You should start seeing results in 5-7 days with maximum results around 10 days.  I would wait the full 10 days to determine what your final results will be.  I would recommend speaking with the doctor who injected you with any questions or concerns that you might have.

Xeomin and Botox are purified neurotoxins that alter the contraction of muscles.  The first time one receives either of these products the time to work is variable.  You may see some results in hours to days or it may take a full 10 days to 2 weeks to fully activate.  The next time you receive a treatment Xeomin and Botox work faster.  

Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA, also called botulinum
toxin type A), is made from the bacteria that causes botulism. Botulinum toxin
blocks nerve activity in the muscles, causing a temporary reduction in muscle
activity. It should effect the area 3 to 6 days after injection. But if the wrinkles are very deep you should only see that it dispel just a little bit.

Xeomin starts to show its effects as early as 3 days after treatment but full results are at 2 weeks. You shouldn’t be able to grimace, but you should be able to smile and make other expressions comfortably and naturally. Each time you try a new treatment, there may be an adjustment period. You and your board-certified dermatologist can track your progress with this dosage of Xeomin and then make modifications during your next treatment in 3 to 4 months.

Thank you for your question. Xeomin usually begins to work in 3-4 days with maximal effect seen at 2 weeks. If you feel like you are having some asymmetry you should be re-evaluated by your plastic surgeon.

Thank you for your question in regards to Xeomin. Botox and Xeomin are consistent with each other as far as how long it will take to see results (up to 14 days to see full relaxation). The amount of units and injector could be possible factors, although it is still too soon to see full correction. To be sure, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. It can take several days before you begin to see the effects of any neuromodulator like Xeomin, Dysport or Botox.  In our practice, we wait at least two weeks before touching up a neuromodulator as it can take the full two weeks for results to settle.

The active ingredient in Xeomin is Botulinum Toxin type A.  It works by acting on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing the muscular contractions, Xeomin can temporarily reduce wrinkles on your forehead and between and around your eyes.

It is in the same category as Botox and Dysport; the main difference is that it does not have additives. It is possible that the lack of additives in the product could have an advantage of patients being less likely to develop resistance to Xeomin.

Effects can be seen as early as about 24 hours. The spock effect is because too much treatment is applied to the central brow.  This effect can also be the result of a heavy 11 line treatment.  The drug can actually spread into the forehead causing "surprising" effects.  I generally recommend waiting about 6 weeks before getting a correcting treatment.
