Differing consultation opinions - Full Tummy Tuck vs Float? (Photos)

Question

I carried two large children and have had two c sections. My youngest is one and a half. I had three consultations with three different surgeons for a tummy tuck. Two recommended full tummy tuck and one (with a lot more experience than the other two) recommended a float. With the full tuck both surgeons seemed unsure they could do it without a vertical scar. With the float, he reassured me that he wouldn't lower my bb more than a cm. Which one should I go with? My diastasis is about 5cm at the umbilical and runs up to my sternum. I'm 50kg, 167cm and at my normal weight. My core is functionally strong but the diastasis remains wide when I'm not flexing my core and causes me to look pregnant.

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these, you will need a full tummy tuck. A belly button float is a bad idea (did the "more experienced" surgeon show you results of that technique to you?) I use a low pubic bone level incision, and you might have a small vertical scar just above it. This is a good trade off vs a higher permanent scar. A BB float will leave you with loose tissue above it (1cm is less than 1/2 in) and if it is moved down more, will leave you with a permanent deformity. Full tummy tuck is necessary to address wide diastasis. This will flatten your belly when standing also.

You do not appear to have a lot of lose skin, so a standard tummy tuck with a slightly higher scar and possible small T below belly button may be necessary. This would be determined during surgery- we sit you up and se if we can remove the skin without a T and/or get the incision lower.

A floating would be horrible. It would lead to severe unfixable deformity. Your button would be extremely low and or you would have persistent looseness.
