I am having leg and foot cramping when I wake up in the morning and try to stretch my legs. Is this normal?

Obviously the most important concern for leg pain after surgery is a blood clot (DVT).  However, this usually manifests itself with swelling of one calf and not the other and constant dull pain, not cramping pain.  As mentioned an electrolyte abnormality would be the most common cause of your symptoms.  A simple blood test can be ordered by your PS or PCP to confirm.  Best of luck with your continued recovery!

It may be normal to have some cramping even this far out after your operation. However, if it continues, you should absolutely be checked by your surgeon to ensure that you don't have any other issues including electrolyte abnormalities etc.It is imperative that you seek the advice of a plastic
surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has
extensive experience in tummy tuck / abdominoplasty.

Leg cramp usually occurs when one has electrolyte imbalance (low potassium).  Eating food which contains high level of potassium (such as banana) can help.  If your leg cramp continues, please follow up with your plastic surgeon or primary physician to be evaluated.Best regards.

Stay hydrated and consume potassium, such as bananas.  If this continues consult your surgeon or primary care physician.
