I'm five days post op from tummy tuck and lipo and for some reason my kids and childish husband are making me laugh. There is no swelling or anything just pain while I'm laughing and discomfort afterwards above my belly button. I didn't cause damage did I?

Answer: Can laugh hurt muscle repair? I am glad to hear you are doing well following your tummy tuck. Although laughing may increase or prolong your post operative discomfort, it will not adversely affect your long term result. If internal sutures were placed at the time of surgery, they are strong enough to withstand your laughing... I wish you a continued uneventful recovery.

Answer: Can laugh hurt muscle repair? Hi, thereCongratulations on your tummy tuck.It is doubtful that laughing would have caused a damage to your tummy tuck result. Although I do not know the specifics of your surgery, muscle repair is usually performed with several stitches. Unless you increased the intra-abdominal pressure with sudden coughing, sneezing, or movement, the muscle plication should remain intact. If you are concerned, you should follow up with your plastic surgeon to be evaluated in-person.Good luck with your recovery.
