As long as you are off the narcotic pain medications, there is no contraindication to take ambien to help you sleep.
At 9 days post tummy tuck and liposuction and off all pain medication, it would not be unusual for your body to be overstimulated at night. Since there is a rebound effect from being off surgical anesthesia and pain suppressants, taking Ambien for a few nights just to transition back into your normal lifestyle could possibly be a good idea depending on your plastic surgeon's protocol for post operative medication. At this point, I recommend you call your personal plastic surgeon and get his or her advice on the subject.
In general, it is safe to take Ambien after your operation. That said, it should be done so only under the care and advice of your physician. There are definitely specific circumstances where it is not appropriate or safe. with all medication questions, it is imperative that you ask your physician. It is imperative that you seek the advice of a plasticsurgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and hasextensive experience in tummy tuck/abdominoplasty. I wish you the best. Dr. Gabbay.
As every surgeon has his or her own post op protocol, I would advise you to speak with your surgeon re: taking Ambien. Best, Dr. Nazarian
If ambien has worked for you in the past, there is no reason you can't use it 9 days after a tummy tuck. If your sleep problems persist, be sure to discuss it with your plastic surgeon.
Hi, jill908.Congratulations on your recent surgery.Your body has gone through a major changes/stress; it is not unusual to have a change in your sleep pattern. I don't see a reason why you should not take an Ambien. However, please let your plastic surgeon be aware of your post-op recovery course.Good luck with your speedy recovery.
Thanks for you question and photos. It is too soon to comment on the swelling. Your lymphatic drainage system is disrupted, and it will take time to reestablish the connections. This can take months, and you will see the swelling improve over time. Please check with your doctor to make sure that...
You have to acknowledge that the muscle is very elastic and will expand easily if you put on weight and overstretch the intrabdominal volume.I have seen it many times, after doing a very nice and tight muscle repair, patients put on weight and gain all of the weight on upper body (shoulders,...
From your photos, it looks like everything is healing nicely. If your belly button and scar is truly entirely black, that may be a sign of necrosis. It does not appear that way to me from your photos, but they are not of great quality. I strongly recommend you discuss this matter in detail with...
