Diluted Voluma filler for facelift, does this effect the duration of the overall results?

So my injection specialist “diluted” voluma filler during liquid facelift. I understand that this is done to thin out the filler. Does diluting the product affect the duration of the overall results ?

Sculptra needs to be reconstituted (this is not dilution), as otherwise you can’t inject the powder it comes in.  Voluma is different, as it already comes in an injectable form, and therefore I do not dilute Voluma. It is already a perfect consistency for adding volume to the face. If I needed something thinner, I would choose another product. No studies have been done to determine if dilution will affect how long your Voluma results last. Next time, consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert in using Voluma for facial rejuvenation.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Voluma does not need to be diluted because it is placed so deeply into the tissues of the face.  Dilution will not affect the duration of Voluma.  Hope this helps.

We do not dilute the product and use full strength. I am guessing diluting it will affect the duration.

I have never diluted the filler nor is that recommended from allergan. Make sure you are using a BC dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon as this is not a normal process in my practice.

Voluma is a filler that should not be diluted. To be honest, adding water to it does not make any sense. Will dilution affect the duration of the filler? Probabily not since the added water will be reabsorbed quickly by the skin. My suggestion when searching for fillers is to make sure you get the procedure done by an experienced physician. Also keep in mind that when you open a sterile syringe of a filler and mix it with something else there is the risk of contamination with possible skin infection.

DILUTION IS A COMMON TECHNIQUE AMONG ADVANCED iNJECTORS to improve and equalize distribution. It does not effect duration. Nor does is mean you can use less to get the desired result.  I mainly use dilution for temples and sometimes for lower lids. I don't dilute Voluma because I give that product deep  in the cheek  and use cannulas so dilution is unnecessary.
