I got my lips filled with juvederm on june 27. I can barely feel any filler in my lips besides the top left side. It feels hard and lumpy. It also is pretty uneven on the left side and I'm wondering if that's still swelling or if there was too much put in that side or not enough in the other side.. I'm kinda freaking out!
Answer: Lip fillers Swelling after lip fillers is common. I recommend waiting for 2 weeks to allow the swelling to settle down and then re-evaluate and if its uneven can be adjusted at that time.

Answer: Uneven lips after Juvederm. Is this normal? (photo) Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and congratulations on your lip augmentation! Swelling after filler placement into the lips is quite common due to the thin nature of the tissues. This swelling, and your results, will steadily improve over the next 10-14 days. It often takes up to 2 weeks for fillers to soften and the tissues to appear more natural. In the meantime try reducing the swelling by using cold compresses to your lips and elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back. You may want to also consider using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements. Hang in there! If your results do not change sufficiently for you the Juvederm can be dissolved to restore your prior lip appearance.

Answer: It is common to have some swelling after fillers for lip augmentation which can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. Thank you for your question. It is common to have some swelling after fillers for lip augmentation which can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. You can apply cold compresses to the area to help reduce swelling and bruising. It is also advisable to avoid any NSAID’s before and after treatment as they tend to thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising and swelling. If you have any other concerns please contact your treating physician. Best of Luck!

Answer: Uneven lips From your description it appears you had Juvederm injected about 5 weeks ago. At this point I would not expect any improvement in the shape except for time-dependent decline of the overall lip volume. However, your injector will be able to re-shape your lips, get rid of the lump and re-establish symmetry with judicious use of hyaluronidase (enzyme used to dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers). If your "lump" is tender, a different treatment may be in order. Please contact your injector for further recommendations.

Answer: Go back to injector All injections of lips look different depending on what type of product was used, how much, what technique, personal history, and previous injections. I have a specific protocol for these scenarios which are rare. You need to report back to your injector and discuss your opinion and their solution. If you are not comfortable with them please find out what filler you had and seek out expert counsel. Dr B
