Hello, i am a 19 year old female, and I had rhinoplasty in South Korea in September 2016. Everything was fine until a pimple caused the silicone to come out, now I have it sticking out of the tip and I don't know what to do! I've seen 3 doctors but they all said I need a ps doctor, I don't have much but I need it fixed! It hurts, it's infected, can someone help?? Anyone in Arizona or California!!
Answer: Revision rhinoplasty for implant coming through the skin. Revision rhinoplasty is a surgery to improve the shape of the nose or make corrective changes for better breathing or appearance. It is also a means to repair/reconstruct a complication, such as an infected or extruded implant.Although most patients do well with implants, the unfortunate few who have infection and extrusion need aggressive management. If it is a minor infection, you can be treated with antibiotics in preparation for a reconstructive surgery where the implant is removed and replaced with rib cartilage. If it is a major infection, you'll need two surgeries. One to remove the implant and clean dead tissue. A second surgery to reconstruct the defect with rib cartilage. Antibiotics needs to be started right away. I would consult with a surgeon who has seen this type of problem before as it is a complex issue. Safety comes first.

Answer: Extruded Silicone Implant Dear jeherre43, I recommend immediate evaluation by a physician. You should go to your nearest emergency department to be evaluated by a ENT (ear, nose and throat surgeon) or plastic surgeon. You will need this removed under anesthesia and you will likely require antibiotics postoperatively and revision surgery. Reconstructive surgery with your own cartilage (rib or ear) will be safest option going further. Best of luck!
