I had rhinoplasty to correct a fractured nose. The main aim of the the rhinoplasty was to reset the nose straight and fix breathing difficulties (function). The surgeon also said he would make some minor changes to my tip which I agreed too. 8 months post op function is fine, aesthetics is a problem What i am not happy about is the aesthetic look of my nose now. It has a hard pointy tip which sometimes turns white, my nose is now too narrow. What are my options for revision surgery?
Answer: Touch problem. The frontal view shows many other concerns besides the tip. When you look at the "post rhinoplasty" frontal view, you can see that the upper part of your nose, where it's made of bone, is very wide, and irregular. Also irregular is the part of the bridge between the bones and the tip, and of course the tip is narrow and off-center.Your nose requires expert work on all areas.Be sure to read the section in the "Web reference" link, below my post, on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon, and how to tell whether your primary surgeon should be performing your revision. Every nose operation make the *next* one much much harder, so you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills.

Answer: Narrow Tip Harry,It does look like the tip is too narrow for the rest of the nose. This can be repaired in several ways, usually involving re-positioning the tip cartilages and maintaining a proper width between the paired "domes" of the cartilages. This may require borrowing some cartilage from the inside of the nose or possibly one of your ears. Looking at your photos the middle portion of the nose also looks asymmetric and could be a problem later on. Only a personal consultation can tell us what you really require to reach your goals.

Answer: Over-resected the 'minor' modifications to your nose seem to have been resectional and resulted in loss of support to your dorsum and tip.... an open revision rhinoplasty complete with structural grafting should be able to address your concerns.... although ear cartilage is great for tip work, you will require septal (if still available) or rib cartilagegood luck

Answer: Post Rhinoplasty Concerns Thanks for your post and photos. Correction of your nasal tip deformity will require an open approach rhinoplasty with cartilage grafts and tip reconstruction. From your photos, your original surgery may have created too sharp a tip from over resection of natural cartilages or suture modification or other factors. Opening your nose and understanding the anatomical reason for the deformity will allow your Rhinoplasty specialist to restore and improve your nasal appearance. Consult with an experienced physician or two who regularly and successful performs rhinoplasty revisions. Since you are only 8 months out, you may need to wait another 3-4 months before your second surgery. Wishing you a successful outcome with your revision experience.
