Dr. Bressler and his staff are incredible. My 9 year old son broke his nose and Dr. Bressler did the procedure to correct it. The results were great. Every interaction with had with Dr. Bressler, his staff, and the outpatient surgery center was positive. Everyone was so kind and caring. They were thorough and patient with any questions we had. They were always on time for appointments and we never had to wait. We would highly recommend Dr. Bressler and his office.
I have disliked my nose most of my life. At 57, I decided to fix the long slope, bulbous tip and crooked shape. I was referred to Dr Bressler by a surgeon I know and trust and he was the perfect choice for me. The office staff was efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Andrea helped me with my images, Mayra and Regina with my appointments, and they were all available whenever I reached out with questions or concerns. Dr. Bressler is a very talented surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner! These shots are only at 3 months and I won’t completely heal until one year. I’m very happy with the changes so far and will update as time goes by. I would do this surgery all over again with the same doctor and staff! Just wondering why I waited so long
Dr. Bressler just performed my septoplasty and rhinoplasty procedure and I can’t even express what a wonderful experience it’s been. From the consultation to post op, I am 100 % happy with my results and so thankful that Dr. Bressler was my surgeon. He took his time listening to me and not only delivered exceptional aesthetic results but I can already feel a difference in my breathing. His staff is extremely helpful and very friendly, as well as attentive. I will continue recommending him to family and friends.
I had heard of Dr. Bressler for many many years through a good friend of mine. I had always wanted to go through with my procedures in the past, but I was too scared. 10 years later, my friends encouraged me just go through it and get it over with. So therefore I finally called his office and made my appointment. His whole staffs works as a team. And they are a pretty good team. Rachel and Andrea responded to my emails as soon as they received it and answeredall my questions. Dr Fred Bressler is incredibly sweet and honest. He listens. Dr. Bressler even came into my outpatient room to have a talk with me before my surgery. I was very nervous and scared, but everyone made me will safe by speaking to eachother almost everyday before my surgery. Dr. Bressler has me coming in for follow up. Free of charge. He did such a wonderful job. I feel like a brand new person and alot more confident. I highly recommend Dr. Fred Bressler. He is very professional, sweet, caring and he listens. Thank you Dr. Bressler and all your staff for giving me a very calm professional experience. I love the way I look now! V.hastings
I recently had a septoplasty with Dr. Bressler (just shy of 3 weeks ago). I have only great things to say about Dr. Bressler and the entire office. The appointment was quick and recovery easy. The staff were helpful and friendly. I can breathe better!!
I can not say enough good things about Dr. Bressler and his entire staff! I had my first consultation with him and after spending an hour discussing what I wanted done I knew he was the right doctor for me. I could not be more pleased with the results and receive so many compliments on his work, he truly is an artist and has such a good eye. I had wanted to have a rhinoplasty done for years but never thought I would go through with it, but Dr. Bressler gave me the confidence to do so. I am so glad I had the procesure done and only wish I had done it sooner!
Motivation - pretty girl with no major nose problem- just wanted an even prettier nose! Pros- Dr. Bressler is amazing. St. Luke's is amazing. Cons- none I had a small hump I wanted removed as well as a tip refinement. I'm extremely picky. I went to two other plastic surgeons before dr. Bressler and just left thinking, "meh... I'm pretty.. I don't need a nose job anyway" After seeing a friend's Bressler nose job I was like, omg.. Her nose looks SO amazing.. Subtle changes, natural result... Perfect. If she wouldn't have told me she had one I wouldn't have known/noticed... But then she told me and I was like omg, yeah...your nose looks perfection. Like a little trophy sitting in the middle of your face... I have to have a Bressler consultation....
Dr. Bressler was the second doctor I had a consultation with and I just knew it was right. He spent at least an hour with me talking about my expectations. I was wanting a conservative tweak and had issues breathing. I could not be happier with the results. It was one of the best decisions I have made, mostly because of Dr. Bressler and his fantastic staff. If you are seriously considering surgery, Bressler is the best choice.
I have rhinoplasty scheduled august 17. I'm 33 yo , single, and always hated my nose. I've always loved my appearance but hated how big my nose is. I guess hate is too strong of a word. I loved it at one point but I can't seem to love my side profile ...and lately I don't love my front profile too. I consulted with Dr. Bressler and I feel so comfortable with him. I loved what I saw on digital imaging and I feel like I should have made this decision earlier. I'm getting anxious, nervous, excited ...as the days get closer. Updated on 12 Aug 2012: Five days to go! I hope this helps my self esteem. I'm very self conscious around guys. For years when I've gotten into an argument with them they would always make comments about my big nose. I've had aunts and uncles make comments about me being pretty but that I have dads nose...which is like a subtle way of saying that I have a big nose. I'm really hoping that this helps my self esteem. I always thought I was somewhat pretty but when I took pics of myself I noticed that not only did I not like my side profile but that my front profile also was not appealing to the eye. I'm going to start buying what I need for recovery on Thursday. I have a puppy, he's five months old now, I'm thinking of boarding him for the first day post recovery. Maybe two days if I need but I don't want him to be distraught. I've never boarded him overnight before. Updated on 18 Aug 2012: Surgery was on friday and it went well. I don't remember anything once i went into the OR. I woke up in recovery. My mouth was dry and I got ice chips and I was extremely dizzy getting up to go to bathroom. The staff in the hospital were so nice. I came home and took half a vicodin because I don't like how it makes me feel. Sleeping was horrible at night cuz of the packing. I got the packing out today and I felt so much better but I have to wear a gauze pad with this strap that goes across my ears and underneath my nose. They don't want me to breath out of the nose completely so I'm trying to be good and breath through my mouth. I get the splint off thursday and they will place a nose strip in place of it. I hope I feel better. I took a bath today and it felt so good. Haven't had a bowel movement yet and took a stool softener yesterday.....still nothing. ugh. Updated on 19 Aug 2012: Finally had a bowel movement. Feel much better. Kinda depressed being stuck at home. I'm not a big tv watcher but there is nothing to do. I've been sleeping a lot too and I don't understand why. Pain meds should have wore off and I didn't take a vicodin after friday and even that was half a tab. My nose feels funny. I put saline drops as instructed but it feels funny. Kinda looks funny too. I think I will have to get used to the new nose....I won't see the final result till end of this week or beginning of next. I know it will take months for the swelling to go down. My eyelids are swollen. I find it hard to eat anything with the gauze pad under my nose. Had another bubble bath today. Felt so good. Updated on 20 Aug 2012: my nose feels stuffy today and I'm eagerly waiting to get this cast off thursday. I'm also applying to jobs while i'm at home with nothing to do. Not happy with my current job and feel I could find something better. My grad school starts next week for fall semester so I will be busy with that next week.... I just feel crappy today. Its probably the nausea. Updated on 21 Aug 2012: I can't wait to get this cast off thursday. Does anyone know how they remove the cast? Do they remove sutures at the same time? My nurse said EVERYTHING will be removed monday...im guessing she means the sutures too but I will see what they do Thursday. I'm hoping I get the courage to venture out with the tape on. I don't think it will be as bad as the cast. Updated on 23 Aug 2012: i am writing this post late because I never got around to it. Well on Aug 23 I got my splint removed and got to see my nose without the cast. i liked what i saw but i couldn't look at my face long because 1) I didn't like my skin....it was red from the tape 2) it took some getting used to . It is hard to see your face altered when you are used to seeing it one way your whole life. Monday they will remove the tape they put on....and I will go to work with my new nose. I feel like my skin underneath is soo oily n dirty. How I long to clean it or use some biore nose strips to get out the blackheads. My doctor and nurse were really nice . Even the gentleman at the front desk did a song and dance for us. I would recommend my surgeon to anyone who is thinking of rhinoplasty. His mannerism is excellent...and I'm a nurse. I see a lot of doctors who don't spend enough time with their patients....this doctor takes his time. Updated on 27 Aug 2012: I get my tape off today and get to wear nothing on my nose from now on. Kinda nervous about it because I have to go to work immediately after and I'm pretty sure it is still swollen. Afraid people will think what a bad nose job. I know it takes months for the swelling to go down. I'll post some pictures tomorrow when I get a chance. It's going to be a long day. First day back to work and I've been so tired for the past week recovering. Feels like my vacation just flew by. Updated on 28 Aug 2012: I got my tape off yesterday and had to go to work after that. I'm not used to my new nose and I think it looks fake....but that is because I'm not used to it..plus it is swollen. I believe once I get used to it that it will be fine. I like my new nose better than my old nose. Once the swelling goes down I believe I will adjust. My dr and his staff are wonderful. I didnt help my nose at work because I'm not supposed to bend down but I'm a nurse and my patient was having a catheter problem where i had to repeatedly mess with the catheter. My coworker said my nose looked red after I was bending down alot. So I will be more careful next time. Updated on 2 Sep 2012: My nose is still swollen at the tip but thanks to this site, I know that it takes time to go down which could be up to a year. I'm ok with that because I like my new nose better than my old nose for sure. I'll post my latests pictures up later on today when I get a chance. One thing I wanted to mention was how wonderful both my parents were. They both came for the surgery but only one was allowed back there pre and post recovery and that ended up being mom since she's a nurse also. She was really helpful and the staff at the hospital were fantastic. After surgery my dad came with his car to pick us up and I thought how great it was to have both my parents there with me. When I came home for that day and the next day, I slept and couldn't do much. I wanted to take a hot bath post op since I didnt take one in the morning. I just felt yucky....mom made a hot bath for me and even helped pour water on my hair because I was so persistent.....I don't recommend that though in case it gets on the splint. I was just really amazed at how great my parents are. Just wanted to share that. Updated on 7 Sep 2012: I saw my Dr. yesterday and he stated that he will see me in three months and take pics again because he says my nose will be drastically different than what it looks like now. I'm excited. I have lots of pics so I will compare to what it is in the future. My confidence is better. It's not way up but better. Like now I'm not shy about my nose anymore. It is still big because of the swelling but I have peace because it is symmetrical. Also I'm not scared of ponytails! Pre rhinoplasty I would only wear pony tails at work or at home because I hated my side profile with a passion. Now I don't care....I dont wear pony tails in public yet because I'm not used to it...but i'm not shy to wear it now. I feel better about myself and it's only been three weeks. Updated on 17 Sep 2012: Does anyone know how long it will take for the tip to stop being numb? I read somewhere that as long as the tip is numb that means the nose is still swollen? Is that true? I think my healing time is going to be many months because I have thick skin the dr said. Updated on 23 Sep 2012: It's been more than a month (surgery was Aug 17) and my surgeon says it is still swollen but will take time. I still have to see him next month which wasn't the plan beforehand but he's concerned about the swelling in the top part of my nose. I noticed my tip is very bulbous but my old nose was bulbous, droopy , had a bump and was not symmetrical from the front view...so I'll take this nose any day. I love my side profile view even though it will get smaller over time. I love my front profile view even though this is not the end result. I think the end result will be nice but I'm happy with my nose now. Only thing that bothers me is how shiny it can get. My old nose would get shiny too but it seems as if this new one wants to shine all the time. My relatives came over and didnt even notice. I didn't tell them either. Updated on 25 Oct 2012: I decided to put my pictures back up. I took it down because I didnt want everyone to know I had a nose job but if someone asks me I know I won't deny it...but no one has asked me yet which is why I love the surgeon I chose. I feel like my nose is natural looking. Updated on 13 Feb 2013: Well it's been six months and the swelling has definitely gone down so be patient if you don't see a smaller nose right away. In the morning after waking up my nose always seems more swollen to me. I'm happy with my decision and I really don't miss my old nose at all. I wish I did this in my 20's because I am not so self conscious about my nose anymore. I got exactly what I wanted ...which was a proportional straight nose not too small but that would fit my face. Updated on 10 Jul 2013: I think my nose has no more swelling now and i'm very pleased with it. It was totally worth it and I recommend my Doctor to everyone who wants a nose job!
I got my nose job about a month ago and so far so good! I have always hated my nose my whole life! It was so big to me & had a big bump in it kinda like a witch nose :(, it wasn't so bad from the front but I hated it from the side. I always wanted a nose job and I finally did it and couldn't be happier! I had never had surgery before or even gone to the hospital or gotten my blood taken ever so i was terrified. Luckily my family and friends were so supportive of me and helped me out alot. Honestly I just remember getting the anesthesia being rolled into the OR and then waking up. The first day was the worst just because of the packing thats in there but it wasn't unbearable I had little pain it was just uncomfortable. Next day packing was out yay! But they still didnt want me breathing out of my nose alot. My overall week of bandages and recovery was not that bad, the worst part was it was just so boring sitting there! I am a very active sporty person and it was driving me crazy not being able to do anything. Then YAY a week later got my bandages off! It was still very veryyy swollen and tender but i could see a change. It was a little weird going out after because I didnt want to tell alot of people because I thought it was embarassing, but I got over that and was very open about it telling everyone who asked me how it was and I'm happy so they are happy for me! Anyways alot of the swelling is down now just have alot in the tip still and a slight bump that they said will go away soon! So heres some pics!Updated on 24 Aug 2011:So it's been a little more then 6 weeks since my surgery and everything is going great! I had a check up the other day my doc said everything is looking good and I can go back to my normal routines (playing volleyball, working out, wearing sunglasses again) so YAY thats good news! Still swelling in the tip but its not noticeable.. so yup I'm very happy with how all this is going, i'll post some pics! :)Updated on 21 Sep 2011:Everything is going great!! Almost all the swelling is gone, scar is healing nicely and im so happy with the results so far :)Updated on 22 Dec 2011:Hey everyone! So its been about 6 months since my surgery and everything is amazing! Im so so happy I went through with the surgery my life is just so much better now! It is probably one of the best things I couldve ever done for myself. Im pretty much all healed up, i have had 0 problems and it looks great! Now i even have a few friends going in for their consultations with Dr. Bressler, so im excited for them! But yup everything is great here if you have any questions feel free to ask :)) Updated on 27 Aug 2012: Hey Everyone!!! So its been a little more then a year and Im completely healed now, YAY! Wow this year has flown by I cant believe it! Well everything is wonderful and my nose looks great! I can't tell you the confidence I have in myself now. Since the surgery I have had so many great opportunities including working for promotional teams, I now have a job as a wings team member for Red Bull, I also am a part of a dozen girls that represent our university which we model, make calendars, and do promotions for multiple companies. Its nice have the way I feel on the inside reflect on the outside. But other than that everything is great! No complications and I now have 3 of my friends who have all gone to Dr. Bressler and have had amazing results as well! Well Ill post some new pics!! :)))))
Thanks for your question. Typically corrective functional nasal airway surgery, i.e. Septoplasty, Turbinate Reduction, Repair of Vestibular Stenosis, are often combined with Endoscopic Sinus Surgery within the same operation. Additionally, these surgical services are generally covered by most major insurance carriers. You may ask your surgeon and/or hospital to pre-operatively obtain a pre-certification of coverage to be sure. This will also generate an estimate of "out of pocket" expenses for your consideration regarding, co-pay or deductibles that may require you to be responsible this portion. In general, one operation should be considered for all of your required procedures. Best Wishes.
It would not be recommended for you to attempt removal of your internal nasal splints yourself. You could damage your nose, cause unnecessary bleeding and create an infection by attempting this. Best to find a local US physician (Facial Plastic, Plastic or ENT) to evaluate you in their clinic and remove them for you. Best Regards,
Thanks for your thoughtful questions and posted photos. I am sorry that you are experiencing these concerns after nasal surgery. I share your concerns. The shortening of the septum, strut graft or tongue-in-groove techniques may have been involved with your original surgery, which resulted in your understandable concern now. The tightness and stiffness you are experiencing, and even facial pain, is typical post op and will certainty improve over time. Whether or not this loosening effect will allow your columella to appear less flat remains unknown. Fortunately, this is a reversible problem, though it may require a revision surgery with septal extension grafts or similar techniques to restore a softer, curved columellar appearance. Share your concerns with your physician, or other trusted revision rhinoplasty specialists and discuss future plans if needed. It may be best to allow at least six months recovery before returning to OR for revision. Stay strong and research your best future options. Hope this answer helps you.
Thanks for your question. Did you also have a septoplasty along with the FESS procedure? During a septoplasty, the greater palatine nerves may be affected, and this results in temporary alteration in sensation to the upper teeth. While common, this is often an annoying concern of patients. Fortunately, the sensation usually returns to normal within the first 9 month. If you are beginning to feel some sensation or can detect that your teeth are "waking up", these are good signs. 3 months may be too soon to determine the final improvement. Hopefully, more time to heal will restore the sensation of your teeth to normal. Best Wishes
From your description, "the size of a dot mark made by a thin pen", you may have a micro-nasal septal perforation. I am sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, even these tiny pin hole perforations will typically not heal themselves. If you keep this area clean, free from scabs infection, the opening should "stabilize and heal" permitting your surgeon to consider repair at a later time. Tiny holes are generally easier to correct, but you should have a discussion with your surgeon about recommendations for correction. Patients who report whistling, bleeding or crusting are the best candidates for repair. If this micro-nasal septal perforation is completely asymptomatic, however, you may wish to do nothing. Hope this helps.
