Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstructive surgery is one of my primary areas of expertise, as well as a personal passion. Thanks to my time as a fellow at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and my membership on the boards of Susan G. Komen and Bright Pink, I have a unique understanding of what my breast reconstruction patients are going through, and how I can help restore some of what they’ve lost. I offer three breast reconstruction techniques: DIEP flap, which uses tissue from the patient’s lower abdomen to restore the breast; latissimus dorsi flap, which uses a muscle from the back; and breast implant-based reconstruction. I evaluate each patient to determine her specific situation and which approach will provide the most natural-looking results, based on the original breast size, amount of body fat, and tissue available to rebuild the breast.
