Hello and thank you for using RealSelf.com.I think all physicians would agree that it takes minimum of 6 months and sometimes up to one year to see the final results of your operation.  Especially a tummy tuck where so many layers of tissue need to heal and become 'normal' again.  During the healing time, I wholeheartedly recommend starting and continuing a healthy diet (no sugar, refined carbs or processed foods) and exercise including weight training and cardio workouts. Usually, patients will see the final result of a tummy tuck procedure from 6 months to a year. There are many factors that can affect the recovery time and healing.You will see a dramatic improvement immediately, but of course should expect some swelling for a few weeks to months.Most plastic surgeons recommend an abdominal binder or compressive garment to help minimize the postoperative swelling.Furthermore the results can be enhanced with an exercise regimen.
