Want Voluma in my cheeks, but have 10 lb to lose. Is it too soon to see benefit or should I wait until all weight lost? (photos)

Looking to get Voluma for cheek enhancement. Consult showed flat cheeks, but I'm dieting to lose 10 lb. Will getting Voluma now be too soon or will 10 lb make much of a difference in the result? I want to go, but not sure if I should wait. Thanks!

You could get a really nice rejuvenation by using Voluma now to restore some volume to your midface and/or build up your flat cheekbones for an extra lift. A weight loss of 10 pounds will not significantly change your face. And if you think you need more facial volume after you’ve attained your goal weight, it’s easy to add more Voluma. Start looking as good as possible as soon as possible; rewarding yourself with a Voluma rejuvenaton may even inspire you to lose those 10 pounds more quickly. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who can work with you over the long term to help you attain your ideal results.

From your pictures it seems that you would benefit from more volume to cheeks and Voluma is an excellent filler for that.  Even if you still have some weight to loose you will get a nice result from the procedure but you will not "loose" it. You may need a little more filler after all the weight loss, but likely it will be the total amount that you would need anyways if you would choose to wait a little longer. 
The amount of product for you can be decided in an in person consultation, so all you goals are met and you have the best result possible.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  10 pounds should not materially impact the appearance and thinness of your face and I would advocate for Voluma treatment at your convenience.  If placed correctly any additional weight loss will not cause the benefit of the filler to be lost.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question.  I really don't think you will lose too much weight in your face as you now have a fairly long and thin face.  You do, however, have flattening of the mid malar region whereby you will definately benefit from volume augmentation.  Please make sure that you consult with a Plastic Surgeon whom specializes only in the face.  All the best.

Your cheeks may look thinner if you lose weight, but it's difficult to determine how much it will be impacted. Cheeks can be improved with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Thank you for your question. It appears that you would benefit from the volume now. If you lose more weight you may require more filler at that time. If you wait until you have lost all the weight you will require more filler than you would if you already had some in place. Each individual is different in terms of weight loss and facial volume loss. In some people a lot of volume is lost with weight loss and in others very little.

Great question! From your 2 posted photos you would will likely benefit from Voluma cheek enhancement. While it is true that 10 lbs of weight loss would likely alter some facial volume, it should not have a huge impact on midface and cheek enhancement. I would anticipate it will take some time for the weight loss to occur and for you to have a stable weight -- so you could easily have the Voluma treatment now and a touch up in 6 months or 1 year if you so desire based on a) how you are looking and b) changes due to weight loss. Whatever you decide, please have an in-person consultation with a board-certified, fellowship-trained MD with extensive experience in facial plastic surgery and cheek/mid face sculpting.  I suggest avoiding nurses, non-doctors and trying to find "deals" on the internet -- this is your face we are talking about!! This is a procedure/treatment that is very common in my office and patients love it. Cheek fat does tend to change with body weight.  So it is possible that your face will look a little thinner with weight loss.  However, 10 lbs is not a lot of weight so I would expect that the facial changes from the weight loss would be subtle.  It is really up to you.  The Voluma will do fine and if you like the result now. It will still look natural 10lbs later.  However you might feel your cheeks are a little less full after the weight loss due to loss of some fat, not from loss of the Voluma.
