I had 1 syringe of voluma added .5 split b/w my cheeks and .5 to my chin. I noticed that I liked my cheeks and want more. I made an appointment to go back in for another syringe to my cheeks at 11 days after my first time. Is this ok? Is there any reason, potential side-effect, or caution that leads to everyone saying you should wait 2 weeks before going in for more? Will going in for more sooner hinder my results or cause prolonged healing with potential swelling/bruising?
Answer: Voluma Thank you for your question! It is very frequent that we perform injections in "sessions" a few week apart, exactly as you described. The right amount of fillers or the number of sessions that takes for the patient to get the best result are variable and that does not add extra side effects or potential extra complications. However, every injection session will have its own swelling and potential bruising, so it depends how much down time you can have. The most important thing in my is that the patient's goals are met and you have the best results possible, even if you need more that one session. Hope this helps! Best, Dr Miotto

Answer: Voluma Thank you for your question. Yes, you can add volume to your cheeks after the injection. Your healing process and the recommendation of your board certified facial plastic surgeon will prove the best time to have the procedure a second time. Best wishes,

Answer: Can I Have More Voluma 2 Weeks After First Round? Allow at Least Two Weeks Between Voluma Sessions Ideally, you shouldn’t add more Voluma less than two weeks after your first session. There is swelling that needs to dissipate so that you and your dermatologist can have an accurate idea of what the initial results are. Also, your skin needs to heal before being injected again. However, if you are no longer swollen or bruised and your dermatologist feels that it’s OK, having more Voluma added at 11 days should be fine. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who is experienced with sculpting the face using Voluma.

Answer: Can I have more Voluma added to my cheeks 2 weeks after first round of injections? Thank you for sharing your excellent question. The reason that most injectors ask for two weeks is to allow your tissues time to heal and for any swelling to resolve. This allows for a more accurate treatment as your results will not be impacted or masked but the swelling. As you had very little Voluma placed into your cheeks you should be at your long-term appearance change after 11 days and can receive additional filler if you desire it. Hope this helps.

Answer: Adding More Voluma After First Round of Injections Two weeks is a reasonable time to wait to have more Voluma placed if you have no visible signs of bruising or swelling. If you have residual bruising or swelling, it could be hard for your doctor to tell if you might naturally need more on one side vs. the other (most everyone has one side that is a little asymmetric compared to the other side). You had a conservative l amount placed in your cheeks the first round. Now that you know you like the way it looks, it is reasonable to have more added. Good luck!
