Can bruising develop 3 days post voluma injections in cheek and chin?

Question

I just woke up and am on my 3rd day post-voluma injection to my cheeks and chin. No bruising yet. I remember my doctor saying stay away from green tea. I totally forgot about that and had a large Matcha green tea from starbucks last night (1 cup matcha=same effect of 3 cups of regular green tea... 1 large at starbucks=2.5 cups... I had "7.5 cups" of green tea). I am so worried that I am going to develop bruising now. Could this happen at after 3 days from the filler?

Thank you for sharing your question.  Because Voluma is placed much deeper into the tissues of the cheek and chin bruising is less common than with some of the other dermal fillers.  If you have not seen any bruising to this point it is unlikely the green tea will cause any to develop.  Hang in there!

Bruising after voluma is very mild if that happens since the injections are deep. If it has not happened until now, I won't worry much. I tell my patients to go back to normal life right after injections.

It is unlikely that this will cause bruising. However, some bruising and/or swelling can be typical and last 1-2 weeks after injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

There are many great products for adding volume to the cheek and chin area. Juvederm  Voluma gives very nice contour and definition to the cheek area, resulting in softening of the nasolabial folds.  it is uncommon for bruising to occur 3 days post injection with Voluma even if drinking green tea. Usually the bruising will be realized in the first day or 2. Swelling can persist for up to 2 weeks

I is highly unlikely that you will develop any bruising this far out from your Voluma injections. Even after that much green tea. I wouldn't worry.
