How can I achieve a sharp jawline? Is liposuction the best option? (photos)

Question

I’m a 27yr old female and I finally want to do something about my indistinct jawline. I have been looking into neck/chin/jowl liposuction, but that is really as INVASIVE as I prefer to take it. I’m not into implants, and I love my nose! As stated, I’m open to lipo and any type of fillers. Kybella sounds too good to be true, and most of the before/after aren’t very impressive to me. Additionally, I feel like Coolsculpt is just a waste of money. What can I do?

You may consider a chin augmentation to improve your jawline combined with liposuction of the sub mental chin and neck. Liposuction of the chin area alone could give improvement as well. Liposuction can be combined with J-Plasma (Renuvion) Cool Helium Plasma for skin tightening of the chin and neck produces consistently good results for appropriate candidates. I would recommend an in person consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

I totally agree with you about Kybella. I would do an in office liposuction under your chin and below the jawline to create definition. We could do a chin augmentation with Radiesse or Restylane Lyft to increase chin projection and define the angle between the chin and the submental area. Or even use the fat that is removed. You should expect good results from these procedures. An examination will determine if the fat under the chin is subplatysmal, in that case a direct surgical removal is necessary, but this is unlikely. A chin implant is your other surgical option. As you can see there is a lot to discuss and I suggest a consultation to make it all clear for you.

Neck liposuction is a great option for patients with good skin elasticity and excess fat in the neck and around the jawline. This will remove excess fat and stimulate the skin to contract over time which will improve angulation and definition along the jawline. I recommend seeing an expert for a consultation who can go over this procedure to determine if it will achieve your desired results. I hope this helps!

Liposuction can accomplish removal of the fatty deposits above the platysma muscle, while surgery is required to remove the fatty deposits below the platysma muscle. Liposuction along with a platysma- plasty can significantly achieve a sharp and delineated jawline
