Has anyone ever performed Lipo and Dog Ear Revision In their office with just numbing the patient?

   From your description, this seems to be a reasonable option given the procedures that are being planned.

Both these procedures can be done in the office under local anesthesia. Some compression dressings and some restriction of activity is also necessary as per your surgeon's instruction. 

Thanks for your question. Yes, dogear correction, and to a less extent liposuction to small areas, are both common procedures to perform in the office setting. You should do well from this surgery looking at your photographs.

Having liposuction and excising your dog ears under local anesthesia is common and often done as an in office procedure.  The recovery is easier because its under local anesthesia and if the incisions are relatively small.  Remember to follow your surgeons post operative instructions.

Dog ears with liposuction can be done under local, in office. It depends upon the particular patient and how large the areas are. That will also determine how long the down time will be. Local is usually easier to recover from than sedation/anesthesia.An exam and consultation with a/your plastic surgeon is recommended to discuss your options and expectations.

Thanks so much for this question. I perform dog ear revisions and patients have very little down time. I also do not routinely prescribe pain medication as patients seem to do well with just Tylenol and/or ibuprofen for 24 to 48 hours. I do not perform liposuction revision in the office. Minor revisions can be performed in the office setting under local anesthesia. There will be a period of recovery, but it will be minor in comparison to recovery from a full tummy tuck. Your surgeon will advise you of any restrictions from the planned procedure.

First, dog ear revision under local only is very straightforward. Second, I perform a lot of liposuction under local.  It is very safe and most patients are very comfortable.

Thank you for the question and photos.  Yes, both "dog-ear" revision as well as liposuction can be done under local anesthesia as long as you have the proper set up to allow doing so under sterile conditions.  Downtime, pain, and recovery should be minimal.  With that said, liposuction areas should be compressed so I would imagine that your plastic surgeon will recommend an abdominal binder or wearing "spanx".Good luck with the remainder of your tummy tuck recovery.All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
