Dental problems but I want my TT very soon. Get my teeth fixed 1st or can I go under without fixing my teeth first?

Question

Can I still get a TT with dental issues? Or is it smarter to take care of my dental problems before surgery? Will having a really bad cavity or two effect the state of my health while under for TT? Should I get my teeth fixed first and how long after getting teeth fixed should I wait (days,weeks,months) to get TT? Or can I go under having sinus headache/infection from teeth? I don't want to cause too much trauma to my body w? both at same time. But both are important. I want my surgery now lol!

As tummy tuck is a completely elective, cosmetic procedure, it is best to take care of a potentially complicating issue first.  An infection in one area of the body can lead to an infection in another area, especially when it is compromised by surgical trauma.  Discuss this issue further with your surgeon and your dentist.

I would recommend taking care of any ongoing infections prior to having an elective procedure like a tummy tuck.

Definitely the teeth.  When you have your tummy tuck you want to be in good shape, no sign of infection and no pain elsewhere. After your tummy tuck you want to concentrate on your recovery and enjoy the results. You don't want that to be spoiled by having to deal with dental pain, facial pain. If you did the dental work first, you would be a much better candidate for anesthesia, and your plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist would much prefer that.

Although I understand your desire to undergo tummy tuck surgery as soon as possible, I would recommend that you take care of dental concerns first.  Generally, always best to address "necessary" procedures prior to undergoing elective surgery.  Furthermore, having poor dentition around the time of surgery may be an issue when it comes to intubation (control of your airway during tummy tuck surgery).  Also, you do not want to have a dental emergency in the early days/weeks after tummy tuck surgery (for many reasons). I hope this helps.
