I'm anemic. Can I still have professional grade microneedling and Juvederm fillers or wait until my iron levels are normal?

I am scheduled to have 1.5 professional micro needle Should I wait until my GI finds cause???? I’m currently on iron pills. My ice puck scars and lines would need at least a 2.0 depth I was told. how long after micro needle can I get juvederm

Thank you for your question. I don't believe that microneedling has anything to do with anemia, but you can ask your medical doctor first to be on the safe side.

First, the cause of your anemia must be established. As long as you don't have bleeding tendencies, microneedling is fine. For all it's gory look, blood loss is negligible. Voluma can be done before microneedling.

I would suggest that you consider radio-frequency microneedling instead of traditional microneedling. The results are better and bleeding is practically non-existent.

When using micro-needling of 1.5 mm in size, the blood loss should be extremely minimal but not knowing how anemic you are I cannot recommend that just go ahead and do it. There are other methods of improving on acne that are much more effective than micro-needling unless your scars are extremely minimal. Good luck from New York City

You are having two separate procedures- one that relies on your immunes system to he healthy (acne scar management with skin needling). In this situation a healthy immune system with good iron levels will help. Please do your research on how to treat ice pick scars, needling is not the best solution for these type of acne scars. Now, as for Juvederm, this can be done safely as it has no effects on your immune system and general health. Papers have shown patients who have more serious conditions are safe to have HA dermal fillers like Juvederm. I highly recommend waiting until your anemia is under control and your diagnostic studies are done, although having microneedling may not interfere with anemia at all because the blood loss is very minimal, I would still wait.
