A combination approach is needed to get the most improvement for nasolabial folds. A filler such as Restylane Lyft or Restylane Defyne could be injection into the prejowl sulci and along the posterior jawline at the angle of the mandible to improve jawline definition. Restylane Defyne could also be injected into the marionette lines and corners of the mouth to improve the appearance of the lower face. A skin tightening procedure such as Thermage which used radiofrequency could then be used to tighten the skin and also improve jawline definition and soften the appearance of the jowls. Although it would appear that in order to minimize the jowls the most obvious place to inject filler is between the chin and the beginning of the jowls at the jawline, this is not the right choice. Looking at your photo, imagine that the depression in that area is filled so the jawline would appear as a straight line connecting the chin and the jowl. What would be created is a much more masculine, square face!What needs to be done is to create a maximum lift of the jowl by placing filler in the upper face, than add some filler in front and behind the jowl and extend it to the angle of your jaw. Only then you can establish more aesthetic improvement.You must also remember that filler is a temporary fix and only more aggressive approach would render more permanent results. Good luck!
