Hello and thank you for your question. I’m not sure when you had your lip injections but swelling is a common minor adverse event that can occur after the injection of dermal fillers (or anytime a needle is placed into the skin) and it can be asymmetric. Fortunately, this is temporary and there are ways to help minimize the effects. I would suggest firm massage of the area to try to smooth any bumps out. It is still early after injection, so a few days of icing and intermittent massage may solve the problem. If you prefer the fuller side, you can always ask your injector to add a bit of filler to the less full side so that they match. It can take up to 2 weeks for the swelling to resolve and for your fillers to be settled into your lip tissue. If you’re unhappy with your results or the lumps do not resolve, the filler can be reversed with hyaluronidase.I hope that this information helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions!
Thank you for your questions. Some more info or photos would be helpful. If it has not been long, my advice is to wait. It can take several weeks for the swelling to subside and for the final results to be revealed. If it has been a long time and you are still unhappy then your options would be to add volume to the smaller side to correct or to dissolve the product on the larger side.Hope this helps!
I'm not sure when you got your injections. It can take 1-2 weeks for final results with lip fillers. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear mnsawes,Juvederm has significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks. Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve. Dissolving is unpredictable as well.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question. Swelling is common after treatment with Juvederm, especially when the lips are injected. Swelling can often cause the appearance of asymmetry or unwanted fullness. Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow normal postprocedure swelling to fully resolve and to see your final result. If you continue to have concerns at 2 weeks, please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action.

You have to give yourself some time for the swelling to go down. Depending on the technique this may take anywhere from 4 days to as long as two weeks. If still not happy, follow up with your treating physician and either have a little more Juvederm added or use some hyaluronidase to decreased what's too large. Good luck from New York City
Hi. Without a photo it is hard to advise you on what to do. If it hasn't been at least a week from your original injection its possible you have asymmetric swelling which can self resolve. However, if it's been over a week and if the difference is very noticeable I would advise you follow up with your provider. They may able to dissolve a tiny bit of the filler using Hylenex, which can even out the lips. Best of luck with your treatment.
Any type of ice pack with cold compresses and ibuprofen will give improvement. Bruising and/or swelling can last 1-2 weeks after lip fillers. Hope this helps.
A combination approach is needed to get the most improvement for nasolabial folds. I recommend fillers for the folds themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and ...
Hi Angelika. Yes, most dermal fillers made out of Hyaluronic acid are fairly straightforward to dissolve with Hyaluronidase. But, certain fillers that use Vycross technology have been resistant to duissolving, specifically Voluma. Although this is not public knowledge, there are cases of Vo...
Hello Renata. In some cases after injections, there can be either nerve irritation or fibrillations of the lip muscles for a bit of time. I suggest you get in touch with your injector and ask if massaging might help. Best. Dr. ALDO
Thank you for sharing your question. Though tongue numbness is not uncommon with the cream applied to the lips, I do not think it related to your chest tightness. This should pass spontaneously but if it does not then reach out to your general PCP for an appointment.
There's nothing wrong with starting with a 1/2 syringe and adding more later if desired. However, based on what I see in your pictures and my experience, you probably won't get much of a difference with just half a syringe and will likely want the full syringe. The most important thing is the...
