Do I need a breast lift and a breast augmentation for the results I want or will a breast augmentation alone work?

Thank you for the great question. By looking at your pictures you would benefit from increase volume (implant) and a lift. There are several ways to accomplish the breast lift and minimize the scars. It would also depend on what your goals are. We are located in Paramus and offer complimentary consultation. Consider all your options and understand all the details of the available approaches.

For perkier, fuller breasts, my recommendation would be to plan a formal breast lift with implants. Otherwise, the breasts will likely sag below the creases and the implants will high on the chest. An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended to discuss your options and expectations.

You have both asymmetry and excess laxity. Therefore you would need an augmentation mastopexy for the best results. Having said that, depending on your aesthetic goals we might get away with a sub-glandular augmentation keeping the implant low and giving you a result that you might be happy with. I have done that many times in the past as in the example link that I am including below. In these cases I may not be perfectly happy with the results, but the patients were happy because they achieved their goal and were able to void the scars of a breast lift. 

Thank you for your question about breast lift with implants.Yes, your breasts sag some, not a lot.  Adding breast implants will make them fuller and heavier, which will make them sag more.This can be prevented in large part by getting a breast lift at the time of breast augmentation.To be sure, see two or more experienced, board-certified Plastic Surgeons in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have breast lift with implants surgery.I hope this helps.

Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us. In this regard, i recommend a breast lifting with implants to get a bigger breast with adecuate projection. In other words, you need breast volume (implants) and you need breast projection (the lift).I recommend you, to use a microtexturized highly cohesive silicon implants ("gummy bear" implants), with high projection and different volumes of each side (bigger in the left breast) to correct the breasts asymmetry you have. Also, I recommend perform a "Lollipop Breast lift" to obtain an adecuate breast projection.Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol.-

Because your photos show quite a bit of asymmetry, implants alone would not give you an acceptable result. At the least, a lift on the side that is lower should be considered. The type of lift will depend to some degree on the size of the implants.

It looks like from the pictures you will be most happy with your final result if you add a lift to your augmentation.  There is a chance that if your implant size was very large it may fill your skin envelope adequately.  The problem with that is two fold.  First, the size implant required to adequately fill your skin envelope would be too big to ensure a natural looking result.  This may be your goal, but I always guide my patients to a natural looking result in terms of size and shape.  I feel that you can't see good plastic surgery. Second, the size implant that would be required to fill your breast envelope would likely become ptotic (sag) in a short period of time. I hope this helps :)

Dear Wanting,This is the age old dilemma...scars(lift) or no scars(no lift).  From your photos, it appears that you need a lift.  The technique of lifting would be contingent on several factors, and best discussed with an American Board of Plastic Surgery board certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!
