Revision Rhinoplasty and caring for a toddler. Will it be safe to lift my child?

It is very important to have minimum activity for the 3 wks post-operatively. Your activity level post-op will also depend on the amount of work that will be performed by your Surgeon.Any unnecessary exertion and straining can cause late post-op bleeding. Any accidental trauma to the nose post-op can cause complications in healing process. It is best to discuss it with your Surgeon

In general, I recommend that my patients avoid any strenuous activity or heavy lifting (over 10lbs) for 3 weeks after a rhinoplasty.  It would be best if you can arrange for family and/or friends to help you during that time. However, every patient and every situation is a bit different so I recommend you discuss the details with your surgeon. 

 In our practice it's important not to do any strenuous activities to raise her heart  rate/blood pressure for 2 weeks after the surgery to prevent a nose bleed. Picking up her 1-year-old daughter  should not be a problem as long as you don't get hit in the nose accidentally. It's also good idea to check with  Your operative surgeon.
