From the photo, i would suspect that you will need a full syringe of filler to correct the gummy smile. Start with 1/2 syringe and you can always buy another one in a week or so for further correction if needed.
Botox can help relax the side of your mouth that is pulling up slightly more than the other. However, just evening out your upper lift with a natural-looking and feeling hyaluronic-acid based filler such as Belotero, Volbella or Restylane Silk would be my recommended first step. Fillers can last for up to a year or more. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert Botox injector and lip augmentor to be evaluated and get the best and most consistent results.
Botox will help with the gummy smile but not correct unevenness. If you are concerned with unevenness opt for a dermal filler as well. I'm sure 1/2 syringe would be enough to correct the asymmetry.
Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. I would recommend only treating your lips with a thicker hyaluronic acid filler like Juvederm Ultra Plus. Often with lip augmentations the lower border of the upper lip will cover more of the gums and upper teeth of a patient to help improve their smile appearance. Your smile asymmetry is so subtle I think this is all you will likely need. Hope this helps.
From the photo it appears the asymmetry could be improved with filler. If desired a small amount of Botox could be added if the asymmetry correction is not sufficient with HA fillers. Be sure to see an expert injector for your treatment.
Thank you for your question. The gummy smile is when the gums are seen while smiling. To correct this you can have a small amount of Botox injected to each side of the nostril to help improve it. Also, a small amount of Botox placed above the upper lip can provide a subtle pout. Fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane can be used to improve the fullness of the lips. I recommend having a consultation with an expert to discuss your concerns and to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!
It appears that you have slightly more upward lift on the left and that can be corrected with an injection of 2units of botox on that side into the levator labii alaquanasi muscle. I would suggest doing only that and reevaluating your smile after 2 weeks before considering fillers.
You don't have to decide what treatment is best on your own. When you consult with a board-certified dermatologist, he or she will evaluate your lips and make recommendations based on your desires and needs. Botox and Restylane have very different mechanisms of action. Botox relaxes muscles. Restylane adds volume to lips and skin. If your crooked smile is caused by a muscular imbalance, then Botox may help. If it's an anatomic asymmetry, then Restylane would be the best solution. If you are trying to estimate the amount of product you need because you are concerned about cost, then this too can be addressed in your consultation. Please see a board-certified dermatologist to find out all of your options so you can make an informed decision.
I would try the filler first to see if it makes enough of a change. If the asymmetry is resolved then you don't need to too anything else.
Than you for your question. Gummy smiles re often best treated by Botox, however in this case due to the unevenness of your lips, I would start with filer slowly adding small amounts until desired effect. If at that time you still have a gummy smile a few units of Botox should correct the remainder of your lips. Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
If the tip of your nose is being pulled down when you smile, a more permanent way to improve that problem would be to surgically resect that muscle (the depressor septi nasali). This can be performed alone, or as part of a rhinoplasty (should you so desire).Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa...
Botox for a gummy smile can be done at the same time as HA fillers. However it doesn't appear from the submitted photos that Botox would be needed. Fillers should be able to achieve the volume enhancement you are wanting.
To correct a gummy smile the injections are done near the nostrils. The injections across the upper lip are sometimes used to address "smoker's lines". Results from Botox are temporary and you should return to your previous look gradually over the next few months.
