I am 46 years old and have lost 40+ pounds over the last year. My neck looks terrible and crepey! I’ve tried Botox for my neck bands and hyperdilute Radiesse x 2 with minimal improvement. Do I need a neck lift? Is there another procedure that would tighten this skin?

Answer: 100% candidate for neck lift The fact is: the retraction feature on your skin is gone because of your age, because of the weight loss and also genetics which dictate your quality of tissues. No energy to tighten skin, no injections, no threads, nothing conservative will improve the degree of saggy skin you developed. You are candidate for Deep plane Neck lift to remove excess of skin PLUS submandibular glands, subSMAS fat and digastric muscle trimming. Be encouraged! Dr. Cárdenas Dr. Cárdenas

Answer: Neck lift Thank you for your question and sharing your photos. General, significant weight loss leads to some areas of skin laxity and some areas where the skin seems to stay fine. The neck contour is often affected by weight loss and it depends how much improvements you seek to achieve when you consider the treatment options. Neck lift surgery tends to produce more profound change, in particular if you are using the deep plane approach. If however you are contemplating losing more weight, it may be preferable to wait until this is stabilising before embarking upon surgery to make sure that you get the best result and the best longevity for the result.
