There are protocols for keeping a patient comfortable during injections. Cannulas, numbing cream, ice, and pro-nox can be used to limit pain during injections. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
We like to provide our own topical anesthetic before lip augmentation. Lips get profoundly numb is around 10 minutes, and if our patients want a truly 'pain-free' experience, we may offer a dental nerve block. Wishing you well. Dr Joseph
Thank you for your question. I don't believe using a numbing cream would pose any problem, but I would first consult with your injector. All the best!
I'm not sure what this product is or if it is safe. What I have found the best for in-office anxiety / pain control is ProNox. This is an inhaled nitros oxide gas often used in dentist offices that has a quick onset and then clears the body very fast. You can see an actual treatment in the video link provided. I would highly recommend calling your Provider prior to your appointment and asking if they numb in office. Most practices numb topically or perform a dental block prior to injections for the patient's comfort. It is best to get numbed under proper medical supervision.
YOu can use it. I generally do a 4 quadrant dental block but I always discuss options of anesthesia with my patients prior and offer different things to everyone as everyone has different pain tolerances, things they need to do afterwards etc. Hope that helps.SP MD
We do apply topical anesthetic ointment prior to lip filler treatment IN OFFICE under medical supervision. I would discuss with your physician prior to using any anesthetic cream on your own.
Hello Pinkwillow,Applying topical lidocaine to the lips is safe prior to lip injections. However, it is possible (though rare) to overdose on lidocaine even when applied to the skin, so be careful to apply only a thin coat. Early symptoms of overdose include a metallic taste in the mouth, ringing in the ears, confusion and abnormal heart rhythms. If any of these occur, rub off the cream seek medical attention immediately. The cream should be applied at least twenty minutes prior to your procedure - you can apply it while waiting for your doctor.
We find that applying ice to the lips prior to injection seems to work better than the cream. Each surgeon has his or her own protocol and can advise you.
First off--let me say that your lips are gorgeous! The are balanced and have a beautiful shape. That creasing on the sides of the upper lip often happens when the volume in the body of the lip is increased. The supporting structures of the cutaneous lip (the part of the lip...
At my West Hollywood office, no less than 90% of my patients list Aderall as a medication. Rest assured it does not interfere with any cosmetic procedures whatsoever.
Hi, I have performed many lip augmentation procedures using dermal fillers or lip implants for over 30 years. Following my beauty principles, the lips should be full with the upper lip approximately 75 % the size of the lower lip for the lips to appear balanced. The lips can be augmented using ...
